The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults proudly presents the Bernice McNamera Scholarship Award. The said award aims to assist students financially with their quest to have higher education. This award is offered to students who lost one of their parent due to cancer.

Bernice McNamara is a nurse and a mother. She lost her two-year battle against ovarian cancer in 1997. And she was remembered by her friends, loved ones and colleagues as a dedicated mother and exemplary worker in her chosen field.

In order to be eligible, applicants must be 15-39 years of age during his/her diagnosis or his/her loved one’s. The scholarship will be valid for two semester and the funds (which worth $2500) will be directly given to the recipient’s school. As a way of giving back to the community, the recipient of the scholarship must organize and run a bone marrow registry drive as supported by Delete Blood Cancer and There Goes My Hero.

More information on the scholarship and how to apply can be accessed through the website of the scholarship provider at http://ulmanfund.org/scholarships/.

Application due date: March 1, 2018
