An undergraduate student who is in their final year of pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering in the field of power engineering or asset management at one of the three universities in South Australia is eligible to receive a scholarship in the amount of $7000 from the Playford Trust. This scholarship is provided in partnership with SA Power Networks. More than 850,000 residential and commercial customers in South Australia are serviced by the electrical distribution network that is managed by SA Power Networks. This network ensures that customers receive their electricity in a dependable and secure manner.

It is one of the largest enterprises in the state of South Australia, and it directly employs slightly over 2100 people across the state’s metropolitan and rural areas. The individual who is selected as the winner of this scholarship will be given the chance to participate in a work placement program at SA Power Networks during the summer that immediately precedes the start of the scholarship. The goal is to assist the student in developing skills and knowledge while also enhancing their experience in the profession. The successful student and the employer will negotiate the kind of work that will be done as well as the level of commitment that will be required of them.
