Scholarship details
The government of Canada is offering doctorate students with excellent academic backgrounds the chance to apply for its Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships. This student grant lets successful scholars to study in any Canadian University that is included in the financial quota system of the Canada Graduate Scholarship Program. This scholarship is not inclusive of Online Master’s Degree Programs.
With this student grant offered by the Government of Canada, successful scholars are allowed to combine programs as they wish. The mixture can either be an MD/PhD or MA/PhD program but the student will be responsible on paying the fees attached to the part of the combined program because this student grant is tailored just for PhD programs.
Most people would have preferred an Online Master’s degree program but this scholarship requires the presence of the scholar on campus. This is an opportunity for students who possesses high intellectual ability and good academic background to study in Canada for free.
This scholarship program is offered every year and about 167 scholarships are awarded to students who deserve the scholarship award. One could actually be one of the 167 scholars this year if they really put in their effort into this.
This scholarship is worth about $50,000 for each scholar and it covers each student for about 3 – 4 years of study. Citizens and permanent residents of Canada are not exempted from this scholarship program.
As an applicant, it is necessary to note that this scholarship will be awarded to students who are applying for a doctorate degree for the first time in their academic career and are willing to study full time any institution in Canada.
