About the Scholarship:

When it was founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow became the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world. With its headquarters in Glasgow, the University of Glasgow is one of the world’s top 100 institutions, with 26,000 students from over 120 different countries now enrolled. The University of Glasgow is located in Scotland’s main city and is one of the world’s top 100 universities. Glasgow University is also a member of the elite Russell Group of research universities in the United Kingdom. The city of Glasgow has produced six Nobel Prize winners, one Prime Minister, Scotland’s first First Minister, and the country’s first female medical graduates during the course of its long history. It has been independently determined that 96 percent of the University of Glasgow’s research-active faculty are working in areas that are providing research of international significance. This cosmopolitan West End location is only three miles from Glasgow’s city centre, making it an ideal location for students and faculty to study and work. Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and the nicest city in the world (Rough Guides 2019), and it was just named one of Time Out magazine’s top ten “Best Cities in the World in 2019.” Glasgow has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, thanks to a diverse range of cultural attractions, spectacular architecture, an abundance of parks and open spaces, superb shopping, and a year-round calendar of world-class events and festivals. The Student Counselling and Advisory Service is a component of the University of Glasgow’s student support network and is available to all currently enrolled students at the university. When international students arrive at Glasgow International Airport, the Welcome Team will greet them and direct them to the free transportation and their new student residence.. International Student Support also offers an orientation program at the start of the semester to assist international students in adjusting to their new environment. For prospective international students, pre-sessional English sessions are also available before the start of the semester. Research Excellence Framework results for the University of Glasgow showed that the institution had done admirably in 2014. Since the last assessment in 2008, the percentage of world-leading research has more than quadrupled to 31 percent, and Glasgow was ranked 12th overall in the United Kingdom and 2nd in Scotland. It was possible to accomplish this improvement throughout the University’s four academic colleges. The following subjects are among the top ten most popular in the United Kingdom: If an international student accepts an unconditional offer to study and submits their completed application form by the year of entry deadline, which is normally in August, they are guaranteed a spot in on-campus housing. It is estimated that there are approximately 3,500 rooms in and around the north-west part of town, with the furthest distance being 45 minutes’ walk from the main campus. Furthermore, the Accommodation Office can assist students in locating private rental housing in and around Glasgow. Private flats, shared houses, and lodgings are examples of this type of accommodation. The University of Glasgow has two main city campuses, Gilmorehill and Garscube, which are both located in the city center. A third campus is located in Dumfries, which is about an hour and a half south of Glasgow. Both city campuses provide great access to the city center, with frequent buses and the subway providing convenient transportation. Glasgow International Airport, Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, and two city center rail terminals provide quick and convenient access to the rest of the United Kingdom and the rest of the world, respectively. According to the Office of National Statistics, Glasgow is the most populous city in Scotland and has the largest student population in the country. It is also one of the top five most visited cities in the United Kingdom. Glasgow is one of Europe’s liveliest cities, boasting a robust social scene, excellent shopping, flourishing venues, and international festivals, among other things. According to the Frommer’s and Condenaste Travel Guides, Glasgow is one of the top locations in Europe and one of the top two destinations in the United Kingdom. It also has more listed structures than any other institution in the United Kingdom, including the main building on the campus, which was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the neo-Gothic style. The University of Glasgow’s Faculty of Engineering is the oldest in the United Kingdom, and the University of Glasgow is also home to the only Department of Aerospace Engineering in Scotland.
