How to apply

The following are the steps through which students can apply for a degree at Carleton University:

1) Verify the application deadlines and requirements

Admission requirements and deadlines vary by program. Students should refer to the detailed admission requirements for their specific degree program for their academic background.

2) Apply online and track the application

Students can apply directly to Carleton University by completing their International Student Application online, at a cost of Canadian $ 100 per processing fee, or through the Ontario Universities Application Center (OUAC) for short at English.

3) Submit supporting documentation before deadlines

Students must present official / original transcripts from high school and completed higher education. If students are enrolling in a program with supplemental requirements, they will also be asked to provide the portfolio/audition/documents as indicated for that program.

4) Receive the admission decision

Students will see their offer package on their Carleton online profile. Offer includes important information about your degree program, scholarship offer (if applicable), residency, study permit application documentation, and more if included in the offer

5) Accept the admission offer and confirm residency

If students have received an offer of admission and wish to accept it, they must do so before the date indicated in their offer letter to reserve their space in the program.

Scholarships and their worth

Carleton University has one of the most generous scholarship and grant programs in Canada. Last year, more than 11,900 scholarships and grants, totaling more than C $ 19 million, were awarded to undergraduate students including:

Admission scholarship

Students applying directly from high school who are admitted to Carleton with an admissions average of 80% or higher are automatically considered for Renewable Merit-based Entrance Scholarships.

Prestige Scholarships

Carleton’s highest awards are the 24 Prestige Scholarships. For all consideration, students must have an admission average of 90% or higher. The selection committee evaluates applications in the student community, leadership, and high school activities rank of students for these scholarships.

Additional Entrance Scholarships

  • Faculty of Engineering and Design Scholarships

Up to 60 scholarships, valued at C $ 1,000 to C $ 5,000, will be awarded to top students entering selected Bachelor of Engineering programs.

  • Collins Memorial Entrance Scholarships for Earth Sciences

Two or more scholarships, valued at C $ 1,000 to C $ 4,000, will be awarded to students entering the first year of an Earth Science program, in addition to other Entrance Scholarships.

  • Sprott Business School Scholarships

In addition to the other Entrance Scholarships, the Dean’s Entrance Excellence Scholarship, valued at C $ 2,000 or C $ 4,000, will be awarded to the best students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program.

  • Bachelor of Global and International Studies ICP Graduate Excellence Award

Two awards, valued at C $ 500 each, will be awarded annually to outstanding students who have completed an International Certificate Program (ICP) in Canada and are entering the Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) program. ) for its acronym in English, at Carleton University.
