About the Scholarship Provider:
In 1896, what would later become the University of Salford was founded initially as the Royal Technical Institute. Following this, the Royal Technical Institute became known as the Royal Technical College, which is located in Salford. After that, it was subdivided into two distinct institutions, such as The Royal College of Advanced Technology and Peel Park Technical College. After this, in 1992, the institution in question was renamed the University College of Salford. After receiving the Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth II in 1967, the Royal College of Advanced Technology transitioned into the modern-day University of Salford. The University College Salford and the University of Salford finally merged into a single institution in 1996, marking the culmination of a long-planned process. If we take into consideration the rankings of the University of Salford, then we see that the institution has been positioned between 801 and 1000 on the list of the world’s best universities by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The position of the University of Salford in the QS World University Rankings is the same as it will be in THE’s rankings in 2023, which is to say that it is somewhere between 801 and 1000. However, if we talk about the university’s ranking in the UK, The Guardian places the University of Salford at the #89th position, while The Complete University Guide places the university at the #85th position. This discrepancy arises because The Guardian uses a different methodology than The Complete University Guide.
