About the Scholarship:

After beginning its existence in Nottingham as the city’s first institution of its kind to take the form of a Civic College, the University of Nottingham eventually moved its primary operations to the location that is now known as University Park. The college was officially opened by King George V in 1928. The college subsequently evolved into Nottingham University after receiving a Royal Charter in the year 1948. Even in its early days, it was able to draw a large number of notable individuals to serve as guest speakers. Some of these individuals include Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, and H.G. Wells. Since that time, it has persisted in its growth and expansion, and it now has campuses in a variety of countries, including Malaysia and China. Innovation has long been one of the university’s top priorities.

It merged with the Mid-Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery in 1955, which led to the establishment of the School of Nursing in 1955. In 1970, it became the first medical school in the United Kingdom to be founded in the 20th century. Some of the most successful academic programs that Nottingham offers include those in the fields of geography, education and training, veterinary sciences, pharmacy, and English language and literature. When it comes to research endeavors, Nottingham has carved out a special place for itself, and the city is currently ranked eighth in the whole of the United Kingdom. In addition, more than 97 percent of the University’s research has been acknowledged on a global scale, with 80 percent of that research being accepted as world-leading, which is the highest research rank.
