Beginning with the second semester of 2022, the University of Queensland will award two scholarships to qualified overseas students who wish to enroll in either the Master of Sustainable Energy or the Master of Sustainable Energy (Management) programs.

About the Scholarship:

Over 60,000 students are enrolled in Australia’s most populous university, the University of Queensland (UQ), which is recognized for both its teaching and research programs. The University of Queensland has been recognized with more national teaching awards than any other Australian university due to the institution’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of educational delivery. The University of Queensland is spread across South East Queensland across its three campuses. In addition to serving as the capital of the state of Queensland, the city of Brisbane is also home to the St. Lucia and Herston campuses of the University of Queensland. In addition to its laid-back and secure way of life, subtropical climate, and vibrant culture, Brisbane is one of the major cities in Australia with a population of over 2.4 million people, making it one of the country’s most populous cities. Brisbane is rapidly becoming a regional hub for business, investment, major events, and higher education in the Asia–Pacific region.

With World Heritage rainforests, mountain ranges, and beaches on our doorstep, Brisbane is quickly emerging as a regional hub. UQ is ranked highly in a number of important independent rankings, including the CWTS Leiden Ranking (32), the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities (40), the QS World University Rankings (47), the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings (42), the Academic Ranking of World Universities (54), and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. All of these rankings place UQ among the top universities in the world (66). UQ is placed in the top 50 in the world in twenty-four different disciplines, with two of those subjects placing in the top five in the world and nine of those subjects placing in the top thirty in the world. These subjects include those relating to sports, such as number two, mineral and mining engineering, number five, environmental sciences, number eleven, agriculture and forestry, number seventeen, education, number nineteen, nursing, number twenty-one, psychology, number twenty-three, hospitality and leisure management, and number twenty-seven (29).

There are around 14,500 PhDs among the University of Queensland’s nearly 268,000 alumni, who together form a thriving global network that spans more than 170 countries. More than 53,600 students are now enrolled at the University of Queensland across its three campuses in South East Queensland. This number includes more than 18,600 postgraduate students and approximately 18,000 international students hailing from 134 different countries. Attracting an interdisciplinary community of approximately 1500 scientists, social scientists, and engineers to continue the university’s tradition of research leadership is made possible by the University of Queensland’s six faculties, eight internationally renowned research institutes, and more than one hundred research centers. All of these components contribute to the university’s reputation as a leader in research. Because of the 125 million Australian dollar solar farm that is located on the UQ campus, the University of Queensland is the first large institution in the world to be totally powered by renewable energy.

There are only three members from Australia in the international organization known as Universitas 21, which provides massive open online courses. In addition to this, it is a charter member of the Group of Eight (Go8) and one of only three Australian members of the edX consortium, which is a global organization that provides massive open online courses (MOOCs). Students are prepared for exciting careers in a wide range of fields thanks to the research, work-integrated learning, and connections offered by our institution. You have the opportunity to participate in the UQ Employability Award program, as well as our career resources and networking events. Both of these are also chances for you. Aside from that, students have the opportunity to participate in study abroad programs at more than 150 partner universities located in 34 different countries, and they can join more than 220 academic, social, and athletic groups and societies.

You will have a wonderful time if you become a part of the exciting community at UQ, which consists of more than 54,000 students studying at the university’s three campuses located in South East Queensland. Our student body is diverse, encouraging, and accepting because it includes over 20,000 graduate students and over 20,300 students from other nations. These students come from 145 different countries. The University of Queensland places a significant amount of importance on the quality of its teaching and has been recognized with a greater number of national teaching awards than any other Australian university. The institution is dedicated to providing students with the best chances and practical experiences, as well as to arming them with transferable knowledge and abilities that will enable them to exceed expectations throughout their professional life once they graduate.
