Programs are available through the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Education, Engineering, Human Ecology, Law, Nursing, Social Work, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the Schools of Biomedical Sciences and Information Sciences. Programs are also available through the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Many programs, including accountancy, business, and law, are regarded among the finest in the country, according to rankings. In addition to providing a high-quality education, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville’s lovely setting, mild climate, and recreational possibilities distinguish it as a highly competitive university among its peers. Currently, 128 National Merit Scholars are enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Knoxville is home to the university’s 533-acre campus.  Statewide, the University provides a range of accessible and affordable educational opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as highly regarded professional schools. Faculty and students of every campus are involved in research that adds to the body of knowledge of academic disciplines and provides solutions to everyday problems. UT is committed to helping more Tennesseans earn college degrees and is pursuing new approaches to delivering education, particularly those regarding the impact of technology on higher education. In addition to being the state’s land-grant higher education institution and flagship public university, the University of Tennessee also serves as a research and development center. Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Martin campuses, as well as the Health Science Center in Memphis, the Space Institute at Tullahoma, and the statewide Institute of Agriculture and Institute for Public Service, make up the University of Tennessee System. Every day, the University of Tennessee has an impact on the lives of thousands of Tennesseans via education, research, and outreach. The University has a presence in all 95 counties of the state. The University of Florida offers a diverse range of accessible and affordable educational opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as highly recognized professional schools, throughout the whole state. Faculty and students on every campus are engaged in research that contributes to the body of knowledge in academic areas while also providing solutions to everyday challenges in the community. The University of Tennessee is committed to assisting more Tennesseans in obtaining college degrees and is exploring innovative approaches to delivering education, particularly those that address the influence of technology on higher learning. Everyone in this community of “intentional, enthusiastic, encouraging, and vibrant students” “is exceptionally welcome,” according to the undergrads, who “genuinely enjoy being at the institution.” In addition to making an effort to keep alumni connected and actually establish a Big Orange Family, the school welcomes students of “many varied backgrounds and personalities.” The bottom line is that students are not required to fit into a “Tennessee mold”—instead, there is a “very strong school spirit, even when the teams do not perform well,” and “you can always volunteer, which means so much to this campus community.” Despite the fact that this is a “predominantly white institution,” “a large number of offices, groups, and posts have been established to support diversity and multiculturalism.” The phrase “a positive overall vibe” refers to the fact that “everyone goes around campus with a smile on their face.” The presence of over 500 student clubs makes “this large university feel just a tiny bit smaller,” which is aided by the frequent availability of “free programs and refreshments on campus.” A large number of students participate in Greek life, yet it is not overwhelming (only around a quarter of students are participating), “leaving room for loads and tons of other activities.” Clubs and fraternities for students of many majors and general interests are available, as are several opportunities to “engage in community service, [get] outdoors, and [spend] time with one another.” Attending football and basketball games, as well as “participating in intramural activities such as basketball, flag football, and kickball,” is a pleasant way to get away from academics. With UT’s proximity to the Smoky Mountains, there are “a plethora of alternatives for getting active and outdoors on and around our campus,” and the city of Knoxville is right next door, providing access to a range of “restaurants, stores, and outdoor activities,” according to the university.
