If a great grade point average is maintained during the term of study at JCU, recipients of the JCU International Merit Stipend will be eligible to receive payments of A$400 every two weeks to aid with expenditures. During the application process, a determination is made as to whether or not a candidate is eligible for any available scholarships. Candidates who meet the requirements for the International Merit Stipend will simultaneously be extended an opportunity to participate in the program of their choice.

Scholarship Offer:

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
- The International Merit Stipend is awarded to qualified students with outstanding levels of academic achievement who are from Africa.
- The International Merit Stipend cannot be awarded to participants in certain programs. This includes, but is not limited to, bachelor’s degrees with honors, medical degrees, surgical degrees, dental surgery degrees, veterinary science degrees, online programs that do not give degrees, and programs that do not award bachelor’s degrees. Students who are recipients of the Australia Awards or the Student Award for Community Management, as well as recipients of any other government scholarships or sponsorships paying full tuition expenses, international students transferring from joint programs, study abroad and exchange students are not eligible.

The James Cook University 2023 International Merit Stipend for African Students is open to all International Students
If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
Application Procedure
- During the admissions process at JCU, candidates are evaluated for scholarship consideration automatically. This scholarship does not require any sort of application in order to be considered. Candidates who meet the requirements for the International Merit Stipend will simultaneously be extended an opportunity to participate in the program of their choice.
