Since its founding in 1957 as a public research institution, the University of Waterloo has, throughout its entire history, been committed to the pursuit of knowledge via research. This commitment began when the university was first established. The University of Waterloo was one of the first educational institutions in the world to provide its undergraduate students with access to cutting-edge computing technology when it initially opened its doors in the early 1960s. This occurred when the university was one of the first to open its doors. Students at the University of Waterloo can choose from more than one hundred different undergraduate degree programs and more than 190 different graduate degree programs to pursue their education.

Additionally, the University is organized into six faculties and twelve faculty-based schools, each of which is responsible for the administration of a particular academic program. Graduates of this university, which is located in the center of the technology sector in Canada, have access to a magnificent platform from which they may develop their expertise earned via work-based learning. This university is located in the heart of the technological industry in Canada. In addition, this educational institution was one of the pioneers in the field of non-engineering fields to introduce the concept of a “co-op” or co-operative program to its curriculum. With this honor, our university joins the ranks of those who are considered to be pioneers. In cooperative education programs, students receive instruction in the classroom in addition to a variety of other types of on-the-job training.

The core campus of the University of Waterloo may be found in the Canadian province of Ontario and encompasses an area of land that is approximately one thousand acres in size. The university is the owner of all of the associated university schools, which include St. Jerome’s University, St. Paul’s University College, Conrad Grebal University College, and Renison University College. In addition, there are three other campuses located in other parts of Canada. According to the findings of a poll that was conducted throughout the country with the participation of 2,400 students by Maclean magazine, the University of Waterloo was found to be the educational establishment that does the greatest job of educating students for the jobs they will have in the future. There are now 31,380 students enrolled in the undergraduate program and 5,290 students enrolled in the graduate program, with 20% of the undergraduate students and 40% of the graduate students being international students respectively.

More than 120 different nations are represented among the student body at any given moment at the University. The University is dedicated to achieving educational excellence and equity for all of its students. In order to accomplish this goal, the University actively supports diversity among its student body and strives to achieve gender equality among its student population. There are around 48 percent of female students enrolled in the undergraduate program at Waterloo University, and there are approximately 44 percent of female students enrolled in the graduate program at Waterloo University. The University of Waterloo is committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation, have equitable access to educational opportunities.
