The Killam Scholarship and Prize Programs were founded in memory of Izaak Walton Killam through the Will of his wife, Dorothy J. Killam, as well as by gifts given during her lifetime. These programs are named after Izaak Walton Killam. Their principal mission is to provide financial assistance to five Canadian institutions as well as the Canada Council for the Arts in order to facilitate the pursuit of higher education and research. Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies is responsible for funding the annual distribution of the Killam Doctoral Scholarships at the University of British Columbia. At the University of British Columbia (UBC), the Killam Doctoral Scholarships are the most prestigious rewards that may be won by graduate students. Each year, there are approximately 15-20 grants given out to the best doctoral students who entered the Affiliated Fellowships competition. At the moment, the Killam Doctoral Scholarship awards a yearly stipend with a value of $30,000 for two years in addition to a travel allowance in the amount of $2,000 for research-related travel over the 24 months that the scholarship is awarded.

University of Leicester College of Science and Engineering Studentships for International Students can be applied for by international students. The goal of the scholarship is to help outstanding international students get their Ph.D. in the United Kingdom during the academic year 2023-2024.
