About the Scholarship:
The University of Houston-Victoria was established in the late 1960s as a consequence of a grass-roots effort made by the community in the surrounding area. The establishment of a school for higher learning in Victoria was one of their primary objectives. In 1973, community members from Houston were successful in establishing an off-campus center for the University of Houston as a result of their participation in a meeting with Texas legislators. This off-campus site was known as the University of Houston Victoria Center when it was in operation. Victoria, Texas is home to a public educational institution known as the University of Houston-Victoria.
There are 4,353 students currently enrolled at UHV, with an enrollment breakdown of 3,273 undergraduate students and 1080 postgraduate students.
