Up to 75 University of Waikato PhD Scholarships will be given out annually by the University of Waikato to outstanding applicants who have submitted an application to the University of Waikato for admission to one of the university’s recognized doctoral programs. These scholarships are meant to foster and recognize great postgraduate research, and that is their primary objective.

About the Scholarship:

The University of Waikato is a public university in New Zealand that provides higher education and conducts research. It was established in 1964. A petition that was successful in 1956 led to the establishment of the institution as the Hamilton Teachers’ College; it was elevated to the rank of university in 1964. Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs are some of the organizations with which this educational establishment is affiliated (AMBA).

The primary campus of the institution can be found in Hamilton and encompasses a total area of 158 acres of land. The campus is home to a variety of buildings, including administrative offices, classrooms, labs, libraries, resident halls, and recreational facilities. Additionally, it is the owner of a second campus located in Tauranga. The library complex of the university spans all three campuses and consists of those campuses’ respective libraries. These libraries provide support for studying, research, and teaching by containing nearly a million print volumes and around 275,000 electronic resources. A gymnasium, a medical center, sporting fields, a student center, a dairy, and swimming pools are among the additional facilities that can be found on each of the campuses.

There are four living halls on the Hamilton campus, and students have the choice of either preparing their own meals or receiving full board. On the other side, the university is responsible for the management of two different apartment complexes in Tauranga. These complexes are known as Mayfair Court Apartments and Durham Mews Apartments. These lodging units provide a variety of amenities for their guests, such as televisions, free Internet connectivity, recreation centers, game rooms, computer rooms, paid parking, and laundry facilities. Students and staff members alike can take advantage of the university’s shuttle service. Bicycles, cars, bikes, and public vehicles are some of the other types of transportation that are utilized on the campus.

The university is comprised of seven faculties, one school, and one college, all of which provide students with access to a wide variety of academic programs in the areas of the arts, social sciences, mathematics, education, health, business, language and mass communication, engineering, and management. It offers instruction in 135 different fields, including anthropology, psychology, applied linguistics, aquaculture, biotechnology, communication design, and data analytics, among many others. The university maintains academic partnerships with a wide variety of educational institutes and organizations located all over the world; these partnerships make it possible for students to participate in exchange programs that broaden their horizons and improve their education. Additionally, there are a lot of business partners associated with the university. At this time, the educational institution is home to approximately 12,642 students who are enrolled in a variety of undergraduate, PhD, and post-graduate degree programs. It is home to approximately 2,000 foreign students who hail from over 80 different nations all around the world.
