Scholarship details
The Catherine Helen Spence Scholarship is given out once every four years to a deserving female student who intends to investigate current social issues or further her education in the field of social science, either in Australia or in another country. The scholarship can be used for study in either Australia or another country. The scholarship will be worth $25,000 in the year 2022 when it is fully funded.

Eligibility for Scholarship.
- You are permitted to submit an application if, on the day that applications will be accepted until, you:
- are a woman whose age ranges from 20 to 35 years old
- Open in slide out
- reside in the southern part of Australia
- have spent the most of their lives in South Australia, with a minimum stay of five years immediately preceding the awarding of the scholarship Open in slide out
- are available to start taking advantage of the scholarship on or before February 2023 at the latest
- will be able to bring the project to a successful conclusion and provide the final report no later than August 2024
- This topic will investigate or analyze contemporary issues in the field of social sciences that are relevant to the social situations in South Australia.
- Research will be conducted in both Australia and at least one other countries outside of Australia as part of the project.
- will be in a position to provide the scholarship committee with periodic status reports while the project is being carried out.
- It is not necessary for applicants to be currently employed, enrolled in school, or affiliated with any organization or institution in order to submit an application for the award
- A PhDOpen in slide out, Master’s, Honors, or any other degree study may be coupled with the scholarship.
- Participation in a conference can easily be combined with an investigation or study carried out as part of a research project. However, according to the parameters of the scholarship, funds cannot be awarded simply for the purpose of attending a conference.
The Commonwealth government’s Destination Australia Program and Flinders University created the Destination Australia Scholarship to help and encourage both Australian and international students to study in regional Australia. The goal was to develop and grow regional Australian tertiary education providers and give the successful students a world-class education.
