Commonwealth government’s Destination Australia Program in partnership with Flinders University established the Destination Australia Scholarship intended to support and attract domestic and international students to pursue their studies in regional Australia to develop and grow the regional Australian education tertiary providers and provide a world-class educational experience to the successful students.
The scholarship source of funds has been provided by the Commonwealth of Australia to support the International Education Program. The scholarship will be based on the applicants who can demonstrate their financial needs and academic merit, a $15,000 scholarship value will be awarded per annum for the outstanding international, domestic, regional, and rural or remote students. The payment of awards is paid in two installments per annum.

The interested applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be an international, local, Regional, Remote and Rural citizen.
- Commencing their undergraduate degree at the Flinders Universit at the Riverland Campus.
- Must be enrolled full-time.
- Maintaining their ongoing residency in the regional area or as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard RemotenessStructure 2016 of the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
- The international students are also required to maintain their Students visa for the whole duration of the scholarship program for up to three years.
The evaluation committee will be reviewing all the applications and will consider the following:
- Candidates who relocate to the Riverland Region to further their higher education will be taken into consideration.
- The candidates who demonstrated their financial needs.
- The candidates demonstrate their academic merit and achievements based on the entry score of the university.
The application can be accessed in an online portal “Students System” provided by Flinders University. Please ensure to read the application process and complete the personal details and the Student System portal will be assessed using the given information.
Keep in mind that upon connecting to the student’s system, the applicants must activate their accounts.
As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit the supporting documents that will support their application.

All academic documents must be certified and submitted electronically.
International students must meet English proficiency requirements to be admitted. If your language is not English, you will need: You have obtained the required test scores for the course to which you are applying. The IELTS and equivalent scores to reach the different levels are shown in Table 1 and in the table below. IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, and Cambridge tests must be taken at approved test centers.
Flinders University will be awarding a total value of $15,000 per annum for the successful student program for up to three years. There will be 12 available scholarships for domestic students and two scholarships for international students.
The deadline to complete and submit the application is until August 5, 2022. Late and incomplete applications will be automatically rejected, and the university encourages the interested applicants to submit their applications early as possible for the evaluation process.
Successful students must maintain a GPA of at least 4.0 for the whole duration of the award.
