The Presidential Scholarship is awarded by the Board of Admissions to one or more of our incoming first-year students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement throughout the previous academic year. Students who qualify for the Presidential Scholars Program are those who, in addition to being among our most academically talented students, have also demonstrated excellence in areas other than the classroom and are leaders in both the schools and communities in which they reside. This scholarship, which provides a total award of $25,000, is good for up to four years of undergraduate study at BU and can be renewed indefinitely.

 

About the Scholarship:

Boston, Massachusetts, also known as the Athens of America, is home to one of the most prestigious private research institutions in the country: Boston University. Established in 1839 and having its first location in Newbury, Vermont, the university was initially named Newbury College. In 1867, the company relocated to Boston. Students pursuing higher education on the main campus and in the various programs offered in Los Angeles and Washington, DC, have come from more than 130 different countries. At this time, seventy-five percent of the students who are enrolled in an undergraduate program are residents of the campus. There are 17 schools and colleges that are affiliated with BU, and between them they have more than 300 different classes that are taught by more than 10,000 faculty and staff members.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 places Boston University in position number 62, while the U.S. News & World Report 2021 places it in the 42nd spot among the national universities. According to a ranking by the Wall Street Journal, it is the 27th best college in the United States. BU has been ranked 20th in the United States and third in the state of Massachusetts in this category, making it one of the best universities in the country in terms of equity, excellence, and employability. According to Open Doors, it is also the eighth best university in the United States for hosting the most international students.

 

The city of Boston is home to all three of the university’s campuses. Students at Boston University, which is situated in the middle of the state of Massachusetts, have access to a wide variety of housing options, both on campus and in the surrounding area. Graduate students have the option of staying in one of the on-campus apartments or in a neighborhood that is either on or near the campus where they are studying. Undergraduate students have more housing options available to them. The Boston University Police Department (BUPD) maintains a presence on campus around the clock, every day of the year, ensuring that the school is a secure environment. More than five hundred extracurricular activity clubs, including literary, athletic, sports social, musical, and other types of clubs, are made available to students for the purpose of recreation. The university hosts well over a hundred different events every single year.

About four hundred different graduate programs are offered at Boston University, where students of many different cultural backgrounds come together to learn and form connections with one another. Those who are interested in earning a master’s, research, or professional degree can choose to take classes either on campus or online, either full- or part-time, depending on their availability. BU is home to an incredible academic community that is comprised of brilliant minds from all over the world. Rhodes and Fulbright scholars, Presidential awardees, and winners of other prestigious awards serve as instructors for a variety of introductory courses. There were 33,678 students enrolled at BU in 2021, with 16,530 being undergraduates and 15,932 being graduate and professional students. Of the total number of students enrolled at BU, there were 16,530 undergraduates. 1,216 were non-degree students. The typical number of students enrolled in a class was 27, and the student-to-instructor ratio was 10 to 1. More than 407,000 people who graduated from Boston University are still alive today. Only 14,096 students out of a total of 80,794 applicants were accepted into the university’s class of 3,100 freshman students for the year 2026. Those who are accepted into the program have a grade point average of 3.95 and a SAT score of 1491, placing them in the top 6 percent of their high school class.

Graduate students have access to a wide variety of scholarship opportunities, including those sponsored not only by their universities but also by national organizations. BU The Office of Graduate Affairs is in charge of administering fellowships. Students have the opportunity to submit an application for available grants, fellowships, and scholarships. Some examples of these include the Clare Boothe Luce Fellowship, the Lu Lingzi Scholarship, and the Graduate Arts Research Grants. The Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Management Ph.D. Scholarship is offered by Southern Cross University in Australia to talented international Ph.D. students who want to learn more about AI in healthcare management. The scholarship is for Ph.D. students who want to study full-time in Queensland, Australia, for the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarship will be given to up to three students who have done well in school and have experience working in the healthcare field.

Application Procedure
