The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton near Cambridge (UK), Rome (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain).
European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is pleased to offer Postdoctoral Fellow – Computational Biology (Cell factory design) to study in Germany. International applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship program.Number of scholarships that will be provided this year is unknown. Microbial cell factories are among the most promising technologies for replacing petrochemical-based synthesis of bulk chemicals. The project involves integrative analysis of genomics, proteomics, and metabolic flux modeling, combined with the data from laboratory evolution experiments, for identifying targets for productivity improvement. The candidate will work in a team with experimental biologists and will have access to the state of the art experimental and computational infrastructure.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
The candidate should have a PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or computer science. Experience with metabolic modelling and/or NGS data analysis is desirable.
