One or more Ph.D. candidates who focus their research on Ukraine in political science, economics, or other related subjects are eligible to apply for the Neporany Doctoral Fellowship, which is made available by the Canadian Foundation for Ukrainian Studies (social sciences and political, economic, and social history). Students who are currently working on their dissertations, as well as those who are enrolled in universities in Canada or who are citizens or permanent residents of Canada, will be given preference.

The amount of the prize can range anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000, depending on the circumstances. The Neporany Fellowship can be held concurrently with other honors, however, it will be revoked or its value will be lowered if the total amount of all awards, including this fellowship, is more than $30,000.  The term of the fellowship will be one academic year.

About the Scholarship:

The University of British Columbia (UBC) was founded in 1908 and did not officially open its doors until 1915. It is a public university located in the province of British Columbia in the country of Canada. The University of British Columbia (UBC) is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in education, scholarship, and research. The University of British Columbia’s motto, Tuum Est, which translates to “It is Yours,” is a declaration of the institution’s commitment to creating opportunities for those who envision a better future for themselves and for others.

One of the best public colleges in the world is the University of British Columbia, which consistently ranks among the top 20 universities worldwide. The University of British Columbia came in at number 47 on the list of the best universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2023. The Times Higher Education (THE) recognized the Institution of British Columbia (UBC) as the 37th best university in the world overall and the 13th best university for impact for the year 2022. In the meantime, the University of British Columbia came in at number 35 on the list of best global universities that US News and World Report compiled for the year 2022.

The University of British Columbia established its roots in Vancouver with the construction of its first campus. Okanagan, often known as Kelowna, became home to the University of British Columbia’s second campus when it opened its doors in the year 2005. The UBC Learning Exchange, the UBC Robson Square – Extension of the UBC Vancouver campus, and the UBC Centre for Digital Media are all located in Vancouver. There are a total of 254 undergraduate programs and 244 postgraduate programs available to students at the University of British Columbia. These programs are available in the areas of business, science, education, health and medicine, engineering, and the humanities. Students in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC have access to more than 80 different training sites across the province for their clinical education. UBC has a combined yearly budget of over $3.4 billion, and it spends $759 million on research funding for more than ten thousand different programs. UBC maintains two regional bases, one in Hong Kong and one in India, to strengthen local ties and cooperation in research, education, and professional growth. In the academic year of 2021/2022, there are more than 58,000 students enrolled at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus, and there are more than 11,000 students enrolled at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus. There are international students comprising 21.8 percent of the entire student body at the Okanagan campus, whereas there is 28.6 percent of the student body at the Vancouver campus.

More than 13,000 students are housed on the Vancouver campus, which has a total of 15 different residence halls. The vast majority of students who are enrolled in winter session housing are eligible for the First Year Guarantee. Students in their first year are obliged to purchase a meal plan through the residence they are allocated to live in (Orchard Commons, Place Vanier, or Totem Park) and are only allowed to live in Orchard Commons, Place Vanier, or Totem Park. The remaining homes are reserved for students in their second and third years as well as graduate students. In the range of $12,000 to $14,500 a year, a room and meal plan for a first-year undergraduate student will typically cost the institution. The rates, on the other hand, might run anywhere from $10,300 to $15,000 each year for a certain room type.

One of the most prestigious educational institutions in the entire globe is the University of British Columbia. UBC has been responsible for the education of 74 Rhodes Scholars, 65 Olympic medalists (including 19 gold medals), 8 Nobel laureates, 3 Canadian prime ministers, and 65 Olympic medals (including 19 gold medals) won by varsity athletes.
