This scholarship was made possible via the generosity of the Professor Malcolm Sargeant Charitable Trust, which was established in honour of Professor Malcolm Sargeant, who taught at Middlesex University. The fact that Professor Sargeant was the first member of his family to attend college was a transformative experience for both his life and his future. The Professor Malcolm Sargeant Charitable Trust was established to honour him and his life by ensuring that future generations of students have the opportunity to obtain the higher education necessary to realize their ambitions.

Middlesex University was established in 1878 as a public research university. Universities UK, the European University Association, the Coalition for Modern Universities, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities are among the organisations to which it belongs. Some people may remember this university better by its former name, Middlesex Polytechnic University. The university status was granted to the school in 1992. The decision to restructure the university’s academic school into faculties was taken in 2012.
In addition to its London headquarters, the university also maintains campuses in Dubai, Mauritius, and Malta. All around the London area, you may see examples of the architectural style known as neo-Georgian. An entirely new library was built in tandem with the adjacent learning resource centre. Students could use this library whenever they wanted, day or night, and it was stocked with thousands of volumes. The Ritterman building is a relatively new addition on campus. The faculty of science and technology and the faculty of arts and creative industries share the same building. The university also features the first Cyber Factory in the entire country of the United Kingdom.
About £200 million has been spent by the university to build state-of-the-art facilities on campus. Middlesex University’s groundbreaking academic study and creative pedagogical practises have earned it three Queen’s Anniversary prizes for excellence in higher education. The institution also has two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, which are given for exceptional commercial achievements on a worldwide scale. Full-time international students in an academic programme are provided with lodging by the institution for the first academic year of their studies. The facility also houses biomedical science labs, nursing simulation labs, and science laboratories. On-campus athletic facilities include a fitness centre, outdoor courts, football fields, and tennis courts. There are three main departments at this university: the Faculty of Science and Technology; the Faculty of Professional and Social Sciences; and the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. These departments are the building blocks of the educational structure of the institution. In addition to offering degrees in the traditional academic disciplines, the university also offers programmes in the performing arts, law, the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, information science, and computer science. Here, students can learn from and grow with the support of seasoned professionals.
Middlesex University offers courses at the associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in the fields of social science, psychology, media and communications, marketing, international tourism management, law and politics, and accounting and finance. Scholarship Offer:
- This scholarship will be awarded for the 2023–2024 school year and will be worth a total of 2,000 pounds. Any first-year undergraduate student in the United States studying any field is eligible to receive it, and it will be doled out in three installments over the course of the year. (Because the Scholarship is awarded in installments, future payments of the Scholarship may be contingent on the recipient’s decision to continue their education at Middlesex, and the Trustees have the authority to revoke the Scholarship if they determine that this requirement is no longer met.)
The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
- If you meet the requirements outlined below, then you are qualified to complete this application form and submit it in order to be considered for the scholarship.
- a student who will be beginning their first year of college study. (beginning their time at the university in September or October of 2023)
- studying something at the college level, regardless of what it is.
- a person who lives in either England or Wales.
- Individuals who will be the first in their family to attend college will be given preference in the selection process.
- Those applicants who can demonstrate both a significant financial need and the positive impact that receiving this Scholarship will have on their academic pursuits will be given priority.
- The scholarship will be awarded on the condition that the recipient has accepted their course and begun it; if the nominee does not begin their course, the conditional offer of the scholarship will be revoked.

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
