Students who are enrolled in undergraduate programs at ACU’s campuses in Ballarat, Canberra, or anywhere in New South Wales are eligible for this accommodation award, which helps to make higher education more accessible to these students.

About the Scholarship Sponsor:

The Australian University is a public school of higher learning that welcomed its first class of undergraduates on the first day of the new year in 1991. The coming together of four tertiary educational institutions in eastern Australia to form the Australian University was the impetus for the establishment of the university. The postsecondary institutions that were present were as follows: Institute of Education from Victoria, Signadou College of Education from Australian Capital Territory, College of Education from Sydney, New South Wales, and McAuley College from Queensland. These higher educational institutions all got their starts in the same decade of the 1800s, roughly speaking. During this time period in history, schools and hospitals relied heavily on the education that was provided by institutes of higher learning and religious orders to staff their classrooms and medical facilities.

There are a total of seven campuses that make up the Australian University, with the primary campus being located in the city of Brisbane, which is located in the state of Queensland. In addition to Adelaide, they may be found in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Ballarat, and Canberra, all of which are located in Australia (Strathfield and North Sydney). The University of America and the Australian University collaborated in order to found the Rome Centre in the year 2015. The Rome Centre is the product of their combined efforts. The Australian University is a participant in the academic associations and organizations Universities Australia, ACCU, IFCU, ICUSTA, and OUA. There are approximately 29,000 people signed up for this program.

When taken as a whole, the many establishments and centers at the university can be classified as belonging to one of the four distinct faculties. They are known as the health sciences (environmental science, exercise science, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, speech pathology, counselling, exercise physiology, mental health, nursing, paramedicine, public health, and social work), theology and philosophy (Christian thought, liturgy, moral theology, ethics, metaphysics, politics, biblical studies, Christian practice, ministry, religion studies, bioethics, philosophy of world religions, and social work), and the natural sciences (environmental science (business administration, human resource management, law, marketing and occupational health, accounting and finance, commerce, information technology, management, and safety and environmental management).

Pippa Hallas, the chief executive officer of Ella Bache; Morris West, a writer; Alan Whiticker, a published author and rugby league historian; Peter Maher, the chief executive officer of St. Vincent de Paul; and Justin Madden, a former Australian Football League player who is now a Victorian state minister. These individuals have all graduated from Australian University at some point in their lives.
