About the Provider

The historical backdrop of the University of Innsbruck begins around 100 years before its true establishment in 1669 when in 1562 a Jesuit school/school was laid out. Ruler Leopold I involved this school as an establishment to lay out a college on 15 October 1669. He ensured its support by presenting another uncommon assessment on salt separated in Hall, the alleged “Haller Salt Surcharge”. After eight years in 1677, the establishing testament was given, which referenced four resources.
Before very long, the University needed to get through testing times – it was broken down and resumed two times. In 1826, Francis I Emperor of Austria at last established the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Law, and, from that point, different resources were laid out bit by bit. In 1969 education began at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Sciences and Architecture, and in 1976 the Faculty of Sociology and Economics was laid out, which used to be coordinated into the Faculty of Law and Political Science. Under the University Act 2002, the University was re-coordinated into 15 resources and the Faculty of Medicine turned into a University by its own doing – the Medical University of Innsbruck. In 2012 the Faculty of Teacher Education has been laid out and turned into the sixteenth personnel of the University of Innsbruck.
