This Ph.D. studentship is an exciting chance to work on a big project with academic and business partners to create new materials for the catalytic conversion of biomass-derived chemical feedstocks into monomers for the production of carbon-neutral plastics. The successful candidate will look for ways to make materials with the right catalytic properties, like zeolites and zeotypes, using a variety of synthetic methods, such as robotic high-throughput methods and modern informatics methods.

The project will include synthetic chemistry, advanced structural analysis (crystallography), characterization with sorption and spectroscopic methods, and testing of catalytic properties. As part of a close-knit team, the successful candidate will also learn how to work with others and talk about science. This Ph.D. is in a number of different fields, including Chemistry, Materials Science, and Manufacturing. The student will work in the labs of the Materials Innovation Factory, which are very up-to-date.

About the Scholarship Sponsor:

The University of Liverpool was founded in 1881 and is one of the most respected schools in the United Kingdom. The university has undergraduate, graduate, and research programs in a wide range of popular fields, such as arts and social sciences, science and engineering, health and life sciences, and management studies. It also has a number of online courses and training programs. Since its beginning, the University of Liverpool has been a leading center for advanced learning and innovation around the world. Liverpool University was one of the first universities to join the Russell Group of universities and the N8 Group for research collaboration in the UK. The school says that 94 percent of its graduates were either working or going to school within six months of graduating.

It has produced CEOs of large companies like The Coca-Cola Company, Motorola, Tesco, ARM Holdings, and GlobalFoundries, among others. Ten Nobel Prize winners were former students or teachers at the university. It also has more than 230 first-year classes on more than 103 different subjects. The university has strong programs in chemistry, computer science, and mathematics, as well as engineering and architecture. Depending on the school, international students might be able to get help getting into the United Kingdom. The National Student Survey says that the number of students to staff at Liverpool is the sixth best in the Russell Group. According to the Princeton Review, it is one of the top 25 schools in the world and is highly sought after by major agencies that hire college graduates. Also interesting is that it was ranked 13th in the UK in terms of how much money each student spent on services and amenities.

The main campus of the university is in Liverpool, which is a big, busy city. It also has satellite campuses in London, Singapore, and Suzhou, among other places (China). The Liverpool campus is on 100 acres of land and has 192 buildings that are all set up to give students a high-quality education. Also, nine Nobel Prize winners are connected to the University of Liverpool so that they can share their knowledge and help. The faculty team is made up of highly qualified professionals from a wide range of fields, such as academics, scientists, and experts in the field. Also, well-known professors and researchers from some of the world’s best universities come to campus to give guest lectures and talk about their fields.

The University of Liverpool has state-of-the-art labs, art studios, libraries, and computer facilities, as well as an environment that is good for long-term research. There are a number of research centers at the University that are devoted to doing thorough research. Over the course of its history, Liverpool University has worked with thousands of organizations around the world on research projects, the transfer of technology, and student exchange programs. Aside from that, the institution is still working with the private sector to do research projects that can be sold. As a world-class university, the University of Liverpool hosts a variety of international seminars, conclaves, exhibitions, and other events that bring together important people from a wide range of academic fields. Students can compete against other students from all over the world in these events.

The University of Liverpool, which is in the heart of the world-famous city of Liverpool, will give you an amazing, life-changing student experience in a diverse international community that will help you reach your academic and professional goals. We have areas of expertise in teaching, learning, and research. We are also among the top 200 institutions in the world because we have world-class facilities and great support.

Given that we are one of the top 25 universities in the UK that high-level graduate employers want to hire from, the fact that more than 75% of our graduates get a First or a 2:1 is not surprising (High Fliers 2020). International students can get help getting into the UK and can talk to expert Careers & Employability advisers. Both of these things can help students succeed.
