The primary objective of the Bursary is to enable students who do not receive full funding from an external source to continue their academic pursuits. Additionally, the Bursary is intended to assist students with unforeseen increases in their financial obligations, such as rent, living expenses, child support, and so on.

The Economic History Society will review submissions for one-year bursaries ranging from £500 to £5,000 to provide financial assistance to postgraduate students (PhD) enrolled in institutions of higher education located in the United Kingdom.
