Scholarship details
Research students in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology are eligible for this grant, which gives cash of up to $1,500 to be used toward conference travel during the course of their degree. The purpose of the Conference Travel Scholarships 2022 is to provide financial assistance to and moral support for students who are currently enrolled in higher education.

Due to the city’s location on a peninsula that juts out into the ocean, Melbourne’s weather is notoriously unstable. Melbourne’s moderate climate is the result of the city’s position at the meeting point of the dry interior and the temperate waters of the Southern Ocean. Intense cold fronts may form after prolonged exposure. During the warmer months of spring and summer, you’ll really start to see it. Extreme temperature drops, hail, severe thunderstorms, and gusty winds are all possible as these fronts move across the country. Not only that, but they have the potential to cause widespread temperature reductions and persistent precipitation. The average low temperature in Melbourne, Australia, during the winter is 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit lower than in any of the other state capitals on mainland Australia. Temperatures as low as -2.8 degrees Celsius are possible, though snow is highly uncommon. Frost and fog are more typical in Melbourne throughout the winter. For the fall, instead of just a windbreaker, I suggest a warm coat made in Canada.

- The applicant needs to have their status confirmed (considerations may be made in exceptional circumstances)
- The applicant cannot have worked full-time equivalent hours for more than four years.
- Research must be presented at the conference by the applicant in order to be considered.
- The applicant cannot have previously been awarded funds for this particular conference.
