About the Scholarship:

Arizona State University (ASU) was initially formed in 1885 as the Territorial Normal School by the Thirteenth Territorial Legislature. The school’s mission was to educate students in agricultural and mechanical arts. After a while, it changed its name to Arizona State Teachers College, then Arizona State College, and finally, in 1945, it reverted back to the original name, Arizona State College. The people of Arizona decided in 1958 to establish Arizona State University, winning the referendum by a majority of two to one. The university is presently home to a number of schools, colleges, centers, and institutions, all of which are dedicated to imparting knowledge on a broad range of topics. In addition to that, it carries the endorsement of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The Arizona State University system spans the whole city of Phoenix across its five distinct campuses.

On the Downtown Phoenix campus, you’ll find the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, the College of Health Solutions, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, the College of Integrative Arts and Sciences, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and the College of Public Service and Community Solutions. On the Tempe campus, which is the university’s first and largest, you’ll find the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Sustainability, and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society. On the west campus of the university, students can choose from a wide selection of degree programs offered by the several colleges and institutions that make up the university.

It is also known for the exquisite construction of its entry gates, the Fletcher Lawn, and its extensive collection of public artwork. On the campus of the Polytechnic University, which is situated on the grounds of the former Williams Air Force Base, students can earn degrees in management, engineering, education, integrative sciences, and technology. The university in Lake Havasu City is home to a few colleges that provide bachelor’s degrees at the undergraduate level. A few of the additional sites owned by the university are the ASU California Centre in Santa Monica, the Barrett and O’Connor Centre in Washington DC, the Thunderbird Campus, and ASU Online.

The Mayo Clinic School of Medicine was created through a collaborative effort between ASU and the Mayo Clinic. A large number of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, online programs, and certificate programs are available to students at Arizona State University. These programs cover a wide range of subject areas, including architecture, arts, business, media, mathematics, education, engineering, entrepreneurship, health, medicine, law, sciences, social sciences, and sports. Taking into account all of the institution’s campuses, there are roughly 119,500 students and over 4,700 members of the teaching staff.

The university places a strong emphasis on research, and as a result, it attracts a large number of students from other countries and maintains numerous connections with organizations and companies located all over the world. Students benefit from both a global perspective and excellent work opportunities as a direct result of this. ASU has approximately half a million graduates living in more than 150 countries. This network is comprised of a number of notable and accomplished people from all walks of life. During that time, Barbara Barrett served as the United States Ambassador to Finland. Matthew Desmond was the recipient of the “Genius Grant” bestowed by the MacArthur Foundation. Doug Ducey is currently serving as the Governor of Arizona. Author, autism advocate, and animal behaviorist Mary Temple Grandin is well-known for her work in all three of these fields. Aaron Matos is not just the CEO but also the founder of recruiting.com, in addition to being the founder of jobing.com. In addition, the university is home to a number of well-known and accomplished people in their respective fields.
