The University of Cambridge offers different kinds of scholarships for students from around the world who wish to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Canada.

The University of Cambridge is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world. Today it has more than one hundred academic departments covering almost all areas of knowledge both undergraduate and graduate.

Despite the fact that its programs are very competitive and expensive, Cambridge University offers a large number of scholarships for undergraduate/graduate, masters and doctoral degrees.

Scholarships are available for a large number of nationalities, including those from Latin American countries. Likewise, the benefits vary for each program and scholarship modality.

Likewise, the University of Cambridge has a page dedicated to foreign students with information about application processes, visas, among others.

The types of scholarships offered by the University of Cambridge are:

  • Bachelor / Undergraduate Scholarships
  • Postgraduate scholarships (masters and doctorate)
  • Cambridge International Scholarships (Ph.D.)
  • Rowan Williams Cambridge Studentship (undergraduate/graduate and postgraduate)

Undergraduate / Bachelor’s Scholarships to Study at Cambridge University

Through The Cambridge Trust, the university offers undergraduate/graduate scholarships for different academic programs. It is relevant to mention that most of them are partial scholarships that do not seek to cover the total costs of studying at Cambridge.

Additionally, the scholarships are organized in a search engine that allows filtering by nationality.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate / Bachelor’s Scholarships

It is important to mention that these scholarships are highly competitive, and their eligibility criteria are based on:

  • Achievements and academic potential
  • Applicant’s financial need

However, each scholarship varies its eligibility criteria, therefore it is recommended to carefully review the description of each one.

Application Process for Undergraduate / Undergraduate Scholarships

Usually, those interested in this scholarship must complete their application to the academic program in the month of October.

The application process varies depending on each scholarship. In some cases, they do not have an additional application and are automatically offered by the university.

However, only students who receive a study offer at Cambridge will be able to apply for these scholarships.

Postgraduate Scholarships (Masters and Ph.D.) to Study at Cambridge University

The University of Cambridge offers a wide range of scholarships for postgraduate studies. Like undergraduate scholarships, the different sources of funding are managed through The Cambridge Trust.

Managed funding sources include Cambridge Trust, Gates Cambridge, academic colleges, academic departments, research centers, and university funds.

Therefore, there are a number of financing opportunities that vary depending on the academic field and the profile of the student.

Eligibility Criteria for Graduate Scholarships

Despite the wide variety of scholarships for postgraduate study at Cambridge University, most criteria are based on:

  • Achievements and academic potential
  • Applicant’s financial need

However, some types of scholarships only consider academic merit.

The application process for graduate scholarships

Those interested in postgraduate scholarships must complete the requirements at the time of application in their academic program. In other words, they should not apply directly to scholarships.

Additionally, each program may have different application dates. However, there are two annual application deadlines at the beginning of December and January.

Other scholarships offered by the University of Cambridge
