We are delighted to be able to offer the University of Stirling Undergraduate Clearing Scholarship to eligible students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland as part of our commitment to attracting the very best students to join our diverse student community. This commitment is a central tenet of our mission to cultivate an inclusive learning environment.

Students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland are eligible for the Undergraduate Clearing Scholarship, which awards them a cash award of one thousand pounds if they meet the requirements of their offer and choose the University of Stirling as their preferred school during the UCAS Clearing process. If they apply by the 31st of August, students will also have the opportunity to secure a spot in University-managed housing for the first year of their studies.

About the Scholarship:

The 14,000 students studying at the University of Stirling’s downtown facility come from more than 120 different countries. The University of Stirling opened its current campus in the 18th-century castle estate on the shores of a loch in 1967. Outside of its geographic position, the University of Stirling does have some distinctive features. With the flexibility of a two-semester, modular degree plan, students can start and stop their coursework whenever it works best for them. Degrees are built up of credits gained through modules, so students can easily switch majors. Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020 (HESA) found that 95 percent of Stirling University’s 2016 graduates were gainfully employed or enrolled in graduate or professional school within 15 months of graduation (International Student Barometer 2016). Student participation in work-study programs and internships is also strongly encouraged. Two of the programs are “Mastering Your Masters” and “Connecting Institutions with Companies.” Visit this website for additional information about scholarships for students from outside the United States and the European Union. At the University of Stirling International Study Center, you can earn either an undergraduate certificate or a pre-course master’s in preparation for graduate study.

Students who spend time at the International Study Center are assured a conditional offer of admission to the University. In addition, the University of Stirling is home to an International Society that helps new international students in the weeks leading up to the start of each semester. In the 2016 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, campus life at the University of Edinburgh was ranked number one in Scotland and number two in the United Kingdom. Scotland has the best sports facilities in the United Kingdom. While the quality of Stirling University’s academic research was ranked 6th in Scotland and 45th in the UK by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, the university’s extracurricular activities and societies were placed 2nd in Scotland and in the top 25 in the UK.

Seventy-five percent of the research activities were deemed either world-leading or internationally exceptional. All of our international students will stay in campus residence halls, the vast majority of which will enjoy loch views from their windows. There are a wide selection of stores and eateries, as well as classroom and library facilities, within walking distance of the student housing. The Residential Services Office is available to assist students in their search for private rental homes. The campus of the University of Stirling is picturesque, situated as it is on the water’s edge close to a castle that dates back to the 18th century. There is a bustling commercial district and sports village within walking distance of campus. The airports in Glasgow and Edinburgh, long known as the “Gateway to the Highlands,” are within easy driving distance of Stirling.

The National Swimming Academy and Gannochy National Tennis Center, two of the best sports facilities in the country, are both located on campus. Also located there are the Scottish Swimming Association and the three Commonwealth Games Councils for Scotland. As an added bonus, the university’s campus was voted the best in the UK in 2016 by international students participating in the International Student Barometer. The brand-new campus, which will be located on the storied Airthrey Estate, will also have cutting-edge facilities. Numerous benefits accrue to the learning community as a result. Several different types of businesses may be found in this area, including a cinema, bank, pharmacy, supermarket, and library (which contains more than 550,000 volumes and 9,000 periodicals).

There are numerous dining options on campus, from cafeterias to bars. On the campus grounds, there are also about two thousand apartments and townhouses available for rent. The university’s sports facilities contains a swimming pool and a sports complex with a gym, courts, tracks, and fields, so students can engage in a variety of athletic pursuits. The university’s student body of approximately 20,000 includes people from more than 120 different countries. Through the university’s partnerships with more than 70 schools abroad, students can learn about educational systems in other nations.
