Students at Flinders University who are pursuing postgraduate degrees in palliative care can now get financial support thanks to the establishment of this scholarship. The Port Stephens Community Group has been extremely generous in their contribution, which has allowed for the establishment of the Scholarship. It is named after Rosemary Toscano and Barbara Arathoon, two people who played important roles in the formation of the Port Stephens Palliative Care Group and deserve to be honored for their contributions.

Scholarship Offer:
- The amount of the scholarship will change according to the recipient’s current level of study at the institution. The students will receive a total of $3,000 over the course of three semesters, each worth $1,000. After the census date of each semester, benefits will be given out to eligible recipients.
Eligibility for Scholarship.
The following qualifications are required of scholarship winners:
- enrolled in the Master of Palliative Care program, the Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care program, or the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care program; and
- working in the region covered by the Port Stephens Council.
- Scholarships will be granted to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a demonstrable financial need. The selection of recipients for scholarships shall be carried out in accordance with the protocols established by the University. This may include consulting with representatives of the relevant College.
For international students who want to continue their education in Australia, Curtin University provides the International Merit Scholarship.
