Manaaki Scholarships to Study in New Zealand 2023

The New Zealand government announced the scholarship for international students. Applications are now open for the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships 2023. The scholarships are for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships are funded through the New Zealand Aid Program and administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to help build sustainable development in partner countries and a lifelong connection to New Zealand.

The purpose is for candidates to acquire knowledge and skills through their study in specific subject areas that will help in the development of their home country. Recipients must return to their home country for at least two years after the completion of their fellowship to apply these new skills and knowledge in government, civil society, or private business organizations.

Conditions that participants must meet:

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply for the scholarship. There is no upper age limit for applicants. However, they prefer applicants under the age of 40.
  • English language proficiency is required by presenting a language proficiency certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, Cambridge Academic English (advanced).
  • Applicants must meet the New Zealand Covid19 requirement to study in New Zealand
  • Candidates applying must meet all entry requirements.
  • Candidates must agree to return to their country after graduation for community development service.
  • If you have been chosen for this scholarship, you must submit the visa application
  • For higher chances of getting a New Zealand scholarship, work experience is needed for the postgraduate scholarship, but no experience is required for the undergraduate scholarship.

Instructions to apply for the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships:

Step 1: Confirm your eligibility

Complete the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships online eligibility test to see if you are eligible to apply. If the online Eligibility Test confirms that you are eligible, you will get an eligibility code (number).

Step 2: Sign up for a Manaaki Scholarship New Zealand account

If you are eligible, you will see a ‘register’ button on the website, click this to begin your registration for a Manaaki New Zealand scholarship account.

You will be prompted to enter an email address (this will become your username to sign in again later). The system will run a check to make sure this email address is not being used. If you pass verification, you’ll need to fill in the rest of your account details and select ‘Sign Up’.

This is where you will enter your Eligibility Code that was sent via email.

Step 3: Set a password for your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship account

You will be sent an email to set a password to complete the registration process. Click on the link in the email which will take you to a screen where you will need to set your password. Remember to check your spam folder, where automated messages are sometimes filtered out.

Step 4 – Complete and submit your application before the closing date

Use your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship account to access the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship online application system anytime between your country’s opening and closing dates.

The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Application Form requires that you:

  • Provide your name, date of birth, physical address, and phone number
  • Please provide an email address: a current email address that you use regularly
  • Please list your preferred courses and the educational institution for your scholarship.
  • Describe how your preferred courses relate to one of our recommended study subjects for your country
  • Please list the qualifications you have already completed
  • Please list any awards or prizes you have won or articles you have published
  • Provide details of previous jobs or work experience
  • Describe how your work experience relates to your preferred courses or career. (Note: School leavers and first-year undergraduate applicants do not need work experience.)
  • Describe the skills and knowledge you want to gain from your preferred courses
  • Describe how these skills and knowledge are important for the social and economic development of your country
  • Describe a situation in which you had a problem and solved it
  • Describe a situation where you created a successful relationship at work or with someone in a community group
  • Describe a situation in which you had to work very hard to achieve your goals.
  • Provide compelling reasons why you want to study in New Zealand
  • Please describe what challenges you might encounter as a new academic in New Zealand and how you would deal with these challenges.

With your application form, you must provide:

  • A copy of your academic records or transcripts, showing your grades
  • Your educational institution’s grading scale
  • Translations of these documents into English.

Tips for Writing the Manaaki Scholarships New Zealand Application

  • Write in English: Applications in other languages ​​are not accepted.
  • Check your work: Make sure your answers make sense. Use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
