About Queensland University of Technology

QUT Located in the capital of Queensland, Brisbane is a research-oriented public institution, Queensland University of Technology.

Founded in 1909, this university is among the oldest and best in Australia. With six faculties, the university is known in Australia and around the world as a great research institution pioneering a vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer, a highly advanced portable MRI scanner.

The prominent university is also known for producing Nobel laureates and Grammy winners, among others. This institution is recognized for its major contributions to nanotechnology, brain, and molecular bioscience research.

QUT classification

By standards of the Academic Ranking of Universities of the World “ for 2016, the University of Technology Queensland is ranked 55th worldwide, while” Times Higher Education “puts it in 60 th position in the world ranking of universities 2017. In 2019 and 2020 it ranked 65 and 69 respectively.

Queensland has also ranked in 35th position in the world focused on the “CWTS Leiden Ranking” for 2017.

QUT undergraduate study

A sequence of specific entry requirements is considered by various departments. To be considered for entry into a particular course, you must properly review the department you are applying to.

Generally, you must have completed Australian Year 12 or its equivalent in your country, you must also be 17 or higher and apply based on your previous education and work experiences.

Also, entry is based on your OP score/rank, which is summarized based on your qualifications/experience. The admissions board considers applicants with a high OP 1 / rank 99 first, followed by OP 2 / rank 98 before others.

Some courses also have specific entry requirements, including auditions, interviews, collections, and quizzes.

For international students, a confirmation that your application is genuine is needed, that is, the admissions board must know that you are eligible to complete the course.

All factors, such as your immigration history and current circumstances, the relevance of your proposed study will be considered. When applying, you will need to explain why you decided to apply for the particular course and how it will benefit you in a future career.

QUT Graduate Program

Each applicant has to meet the specific and general requirements of the course to qualify for acceptance. Most of the requirement consists of previous degrees, research skills, and professional programs.

Master’s degree;

  • A one-year bachelor’s degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree.
  • Graduate certificates from approved universities.
  • Graduate Diplomas from approved institutions.
  • Masters by course
  • Referee reports
  • Professional programs or accreditation.

For most graduate departments, you must have achieved a certain GPA in your previous course or university to qualify for the application.

If the previous course was measured in units, your GPA is the total of your score for each unit times the sum of units attempted.

If your institution has used a scale other than the 7.0 total, it will be calculated accordingly, but note that any grade below 4.00 is automatically considered a failure in the 7.00 total grade system.

NOTE; Apply early as some courses fill up very quickly

Candidates wishing to have a master’s degree can apply to any of the following colleges;

Phd. in Philosophy. The programs

Candidates who wish to apply for admission to a Ph.D. must have

  • Masters magnificently completed by research.
  • He began a research master’s degree and progressed to a Ph.D. program within a 12-month period
  • Progressed from an honors degree with a minimum first class or superior second class honors.

A Ph.D. usually lasts 3 years in full-time study or 6 years in part-time study at least.

QUT English proficiency

If you have studied in a country without English as a first language, you need an English proficiency test to qualify for admission. This can be done through Queensland-approved exams for an English language test. A list of acceptable tests are;

  • IELTS (academic)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Pearson’s Test of English (PTE)
  • Cambridge English; advanced (CAE)
  • Cambridge English; domain (CPE)

Honors Scholarships from Queensland University of Technology College of Economics and Finance

QUT International Double Degree Scholarship for Undergraduates in Australia, 2021

The Queensland University of Technology MBA and EMBA Scholarships

The application for the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) MBA and EMBA Scholarships 2021 is ongoing!

QUT is awarding an educational fund to high-achieving students who are enrolled in MBA and EMBA at school. If you are passionate about and dedicate yourself to your academic and extracurricular activities, this is an opportunity for you.

The QUT Graduate School of Business Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive Master of Business (EMBA) are designed for individuals who can make a valuable contribution to the learning experience and have the personal characteristics necessary to be successful in the course.

There are a number of merit scholarships for exceptional applicants in the MBA and EMBA. Successful applicants are expected to actively participate in the QUT Graduate School of Business community as leaders.

Scholarship benefits

You will receive one of:

  • a tuition waiver scholarship, which covers a quarter, half, or all of your tuition fees
  • a merit scholarship, awarded in:
    • $ 500 for a GMAT score of 600-699
    • $ 1,000 for a GMAT score of 700 or more.

If you receive a tuition fee waiver scholarship, you will not be eligible for a merit scholarship.

How to Apply for Queensland University of Technology MBA and EMBA Scholarships

MBA Tuition Waiver Scholarship

To apply for an MBA Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship, you need to complete the MBA Scholarship Application Form (PDF file, 30.8 KB) and submit it with your MBA application.

You will need to include a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words about your abilities and skills in the areas listed on the form to support your request.

EMBA Tuition Waiver Scholarship

To apply for an EMBA Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship, you must complete the  EMBA Scholarship Application Form (PDF file, 27.2 KB) and submit it with your EMBA application.

You will need to include a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words about your abilities and skills in the areas listed on the form to support your request.

Merit scholarships

To apply for merit scholarships, it is not necessary to submit a separate scholarship application. We will assess your eligibility based on your application for the MBA or EMBA.

What happens next?

The Scholarship Committee will evaluate your application based on your:

  • GMAT score
  • previous grade point average (GPA)
  • work history
  • personal statement of no more than 1,000 words
  • Detailed CV
  • referee reports.

We will inform you by email whether it is successful or not.

If successful, you must formally accept and acknowledge the terms of the scholarship by notifying the Graduate School of Business in writing at  gsb@qut.edu.au  prior to the date indicated in your offer.

Terms

You should:

  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.5 or higher throughout their studies
  • Get approved if you postpone your studies for more than one teaching period.

The tuition fee waiver:

  • it is for the time limit to complete the course. Any license or other approved license you take will be included in the calculation of the time limits.
  • does not apply to units you can take outside of the MBA or EMBA program
  • it does not apply to units where you fail or retire with a financial penalty.

We will terminate your scholarship if you:

  • does not meet the course requirements or maintain satisfactory progress in the course
  • not resuming studies after postponing one year
  • transfer to another program in QUT.
