Eligible Applicants

The Volvo Group Scholarship Program is open to students from China and India who meet the following criteria:

  • They have applied for admission or are already enrolled in a master’s degree program in engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.
  • They have chosen one of the following four master’s programs: Automotive Engineering, Computer Systems & Networks, Electric Power Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • They have excellent academic results and demonstrate a strong motivation and potential for studying at Chalmers University of Technology.
  • They have shown a deep interest in Volvo Group and its values, vision, and products.
  • They agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the scholarship program.

The Volvo Group Scholarship Program offers full tuition fees to four selected winners every year. The scholarship covers the tuition fees for two years (four semesters) of study at Chalmers University of Technology. The tuition fees vary depending on the chosen master’s program, but they are usually between SEK 140,000 and SEK 190,000 per year.

The scholarship does not cover living expenses or other costs related to studying at Chalmers University of Technology. However, the scholarship recipients will receive additional benefits from Volvo Group during their studies, such as mentorship, networking events, company visits, internships or thesis projects opportunities.

Level and Field of Study

The Volvo Group Scholarship Program covers the master’s level of study at Chalmers University of Technology. The field of study is engineering or any related discipline. The scholarship recipients must choose one of the following four master’s programs:

  • Automotive Engineering: This program focuses on vehicle design, function, performance, and environmental impact. It covers topics such as vehicle dynamics, powertrain, hybrid systems, safety, ergonomics, and intelligent transport systems.
  • Computer Systems & Networks: This program focuses on computer systems design, implementation, and management. It covers topics such as computer architecture, operating systems, distributed systems, networking, security, and cloud computing.
  • Electric Power Engineering: This program focuses on electric power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. It covers topics such as power electronics, renewable energy sources, smart grids, electric vehicles, and power system analysis and control.
