The University of Portsmouth is pleased to provide Postgraduate Scholarships to Ghanaian and Nigerian students pursuing degrees in the majors listed below.
The scholarship recipients will receive a discount of 20% on their tuition fees.
Engineering geology, geological and environmental hazards, environmental geology and contamination, crisis and disaster management, geographical information systems, and coastal and marine resource management are among the full-time taught Master’s postgraduate degrees offered by the Science Faculty to Ghanaian and Nigerian students.

The scholarship pays for a 20% tuition fee reduction. The grant cannot be used in conjunction with any other University fee reduction or bursary. The scholarship is a one-time payment toward the cost of a one-year course, is non-renewable, and is only valid for the courses indicated above.
Eligibility for Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following conditions in order to be considered for the scholarship:
All Nigerian applicants must have a least G.P.A. of 3.0/5 (high Second Class Lower) in a relevant topic to be considered for the scholarship. All Ghanaian applicants with a minimum of a Second Class Upper in a relevant subject are also eligible. You can apply to be considered if you meet the following criteria:
- Are completely self-supporting
- Be a Ghanaian or Nigerian citizen.
- I applied for, was offered, and accepted a spot in the program of my choice.
- Have met the academic requirements outlined above, as well as the financial requirements, which include the payment of a non-refundable deposit.
There is no need to fill out an application. Based on the quality of their application form, all applicants will be automatically considered for the award (including personal statement and academic qualifications).
