Scholarship details
International students who will be commencing their undergraduate and graduate degree can start their educational journey in South Korea for the academic year of 2022-2023. The Pusan National University offers two scholarship categories for undergraduate and graduate students who can demonstrate their academic excellence with a higher acceptance rate than the other international student’s scholarship programs.

Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Category
Undergraduate Scholarship
The scholarship is intended for the international students who will be commencing their undergraduate degree for the academic year of 2022-2023.
Scholarship Qualification
- Be an international student and a high school graduate.
- Already completed their academic program in 4 semesters or more.
- Foreigners who have completed a two-year academic program (4 semesters or more) at a Korean or foreign university, or students who have graduated (or are about to graduate) from a college. Over 66 credits.
Language requirements
- Level 3 on TOPIK or higher course at Pusan National University.
- Level 4 TOPIK in the field of Social Science and Humanities, Engineering Department, and so on.
- Level 5 on TOPIK or higher in the Nursing or Business Administration department.
- TOEFL score of 550, iB score of 80, IELTS score of 5.5, and TEPS score of 600 for the Global studies departments.

In addition to the application requirements, all copies must be original and written in the English language or Korean language.
Scholarship Evaluation
The selection panel will be evaluating all the documents submitted by the applicants. On the documents screening the past records of the GPA, Personal statements, study plans, and financial documents will be required. Interviews and evaluations can be made in Korea or over the phone or on skype.
Graduate Scholarship
The scholarship is intended for the international students who will be commencing their graduate degrees for the academic year of 2022-2023.
Nationality
- Born as a foreigner whose parents were born as a foreigner
- Foreigners who have completed all their education abroad and this education system is equivalent to the 12-year education system and Korean university program
- Married migrants who are naturalized citizen
- Students entrusted by the Ministry of Education
Scholarship Qualification
Academic Requirements
- Master’s Degree must have received, be able to receive a bachelors degree in other countries or in Korea.
- Ph.D. must have or expected to receive a master’s degree in an international institution or in Korea.
- Integrated Master’s-Doctoral must have or expected to receive a master’s degree in an international institution or in Korea and already earned 15 credits or higher in Master’s degree program at Pusan National University.
Language Requirements
- Level 3 on TOPIK or higher course at Pusan National University.
- Level 4 TOPIK in the field of Social Science and Humanities, Engineering Department, and so on.
- Level 5 on TOPIK or higher in Korean language Education or Business Administration department.
- TOEFL score of 550, iB score of 80, IELTS score of 5.5, TEPS score of 600, TOEIC score of 675 or more for the Global studies departments.
An exemption can be made once you obtain an exemption letter from the department head or the supervisors.

All documents to be submitted must be in original copy and written in the English language or translated to the Korean language.
Scholarship Awards
The Pusan National University will be providing a tuition fee waiver for the successful international to up to 80% tuition fee reduction.
All scholarship awards will be based on the student GPA. GPA will determine how the students will be eligible. for the students who obtain a 3.7 GPA or higher will be granted a 40% tuition fee reduction, for the students who will be enrolled in a full-time program, they will be awarded up to two years scholarship awards towards their tuition fee.
As part of the scholarship program, the Pusan National University will be providing assistance for the international students which includes tutoring programs, preparation courses, Korean language courses, and thesis programs.
International Students at Pusan National University
International students will have the most opportunity to pursue their education at the university. Annually, the university offers scholarship categories which also include the student’s accommodation, obtaining language courses, and financial aid.
As an international student, you will receive a mobile student ID and a mobile library ID. In addition, you can use the PNU library, shuttle bus, sports center, and more. Lastly, PNU also has programs and organizations that every international student can join such as the Buddy Program, festival. cultural events and students club.
When you start PNU as an international student, you must first conduct an orientation day to discuss class enrollment, immigration, boarding life, campus facilities, and other important info. Scholarship Deadline
The two category scholarships have different deadlines.
- The Undergraduate Scholarship will be from early March to September.
- Graduate Scholarship will be until April to early October
The scholarship will be offered annually for the international students at Pusan National University.
