Teachers and academic staff from Indonesia who are interested in studying Islamic Religion in higher institutions in Indonesia can now do so for free. The Kemenag PMU 5,000 Mora Scholarships Award helps you to obtain a Doctoral Program with ease at an Indonesian university or overseas universities in 2022.

But here is what you need to know to win this scholarship.

Level/field of study

The Mora Kemenag scholarship is open to postgraduates to any course at any of the universities in the country.

Host Nationality

This Kemenag Scholarship is to be taken in Indonesia and outside the COUNTRY.

Eligible Nationality

The scholarship is open to Indonesian citizens. However, not only PTKI applicants, Public University (PTU) applicants, but he is a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI), can also apply for the Mora Scholarships.

Scholarship Voucher

Scholars will receive a tuition fee at the university where they study, a living allowance that covers the cost of living and operational (6 semesters for S3), as well as the cost of implementing the program.

General Requirement for Kemenag Scholarship

1. Indonesian citizen (WNI):
2. Status as:
a. An Official Lecturer at the State Islamic Religious College (PTKIN); or
second. Officials of the Islamic State Religious College (PTKIN); o
C. Professor at the Foundation for Private Islamic Religious University (PTKIS); or
re. Permanent lecturer (PNS DPK and Non-PNS) at the Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) of the Public University (PTU); or
my Officials of the General Directorate of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
3. Have a master’s degree (S2) from the study program that has been accredited by the National Board of Higher Education Accreditation (BAN-PT);
4. The program to be taken is essential for the development of the program in PTKI / institution;
5. Willing to sign the contractual agreement;
6. Make a letter of appeal to the General Directorate of Islamic Education CQ Director of Islamic Higher Education.

Special Requirements for Kemenag Scholarship

A. S3 scholarship abroad for teacher

1. Cover letter from the Rector/President of the university where the duty is;
2. Curriculum vitae;
3. Photocopy of the first and last personnel decree that has been approved by the institution;
4. Photocopy of valid identity card (KTP);
5. Photocopies of diplomas and academic records of educational grades S1 and S2 that has been legalized. GPA of at least 3.25 (4.00 scale) or the equivalent IPK for the scale;
6. The certificate must pass a foreign language test equivalent to TOAFL ®550 or TOEFL PBT550. The language certificate is tailored to the language of instruction at the destination university;
7. Certificate of an educator (teacher);
8. National Teacher Number (NIDN);
9. The statement is not receiving scholarship assistance from the Ministry of Religious Affairs or any other institution signed on tax stamp;
10. Letter of declaration of willingness to return to service and serve the issuing university at least twice of the study period (n) or in the formula (2 xn), counted after graduation;
11. Research plan (proposal) Dissertation;
12. Recommendations from professors in fields relevant to the discipline to be taken;
13. Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the host university or correspondence with a foreign supervising advisor (if applicable);

B. Overseas S3 Scholarships for Education Staff 

1. Cover letter from the head of the work unit;
2. Curriculum vitae;
3. Photocopy of the first and last personnel decree that has been approved by the institution;
4. Photocopy of valid identity card (KTP);
5. Photocopies of diplomas and academic records of educational grades S1 and S2 that has been legalized. GPA of at least 3.25 (4.00 scale) or the equivalent IPK for the scale;
6. The certificate must pass a foreign language test equivalent to TOAFL ®550 or TOEFL PBT550. The language certificate is tailored to the language of instruction at the destination university;
7. The declaration letter does not receive scholarship assistance from the Ministry of Religious Affairs or any other institution signed with the stamp duty;
8. Letter of declaration of willingness to return to service and serve the issuing university at least twice of the study period (n) or in the formula (2 xn), counted after graduation;
9. Research plan (proposal) Dissertation;
10. Recommendations from professors in fields relevant to the discipline to be taken;
11. Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the host university or correspondence with prospective foreign supervisor (if applicable);

C. S3 National Scholarship for Teachers

1. Cover letter from the Rector/Director of the assigned university indicating that the study program to be taken is necessary to strengthen the study program/department at the university;
2. Curriculum vitae;
3. Photocopy of the first personnel decree and the last decree approved by the institution;
4. Photocopy of valid identity card (KTP);
5. Photocopies of diplomas and academic records of educational grades S1 and S2 that has been legalized. Cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (4.00 scale) or the equivalent IPK for the scale;
6. Photocopy of the certificate of proficiency in English with a minimum score of TOEFL ITP®500 or its equivalent;
7. Certificate of an educator (teacher);
8. National Teacher Number (NIDN);
9. The declaration does not receive scholarship assistance from the Ministry of Religious Affairs or any other institution signed with the stamp duty;
10. The declaration of willingness to return to serve and serve the issuing university at least twice the term of study (n) or in the formula (2 x n), calculated after graduation;
11. Research plan (proposal) Dissertation;
12. Recommendations from professors or doctors in fields relevant to the discipline to be taken;

D. S3 National Scholarship for Educational Staff 

The following are the requirements of the S3 National Scholarship;

1. Cover letter from the Rector / Director of the assigned university indicating that the study program to be taken is necessary to strengthen the study program / department at the university;
2. Curriculum vitae;
3. Photocopy of the first personnel decree and the last decree approved by the institution;
4. Photocopy of valid identity card (KTP);
5. Photocopies of diplomas and academic records of educational grades S1 and S2 that have been legalized. Cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (4.00 scale) or the equivalent IPK for the scale;
6. Photocopy of the certificate of proficiency in English with a minimum score of TOEFL ITP®500 or its equivalent;
7. The declaration letter does not receive scholarship assistance from the Ministry of Religious Affairs or any other institution signed with the stamp duty;
8. A declaration of willingness to return to service and serve the sending university at least twice the period of study (n) or in the formula (2 x n), calculated after graduation;
9. Research plan (proposal) Dissertation;
10. Recommendations from professors or doctors in fields relevant to the discipline to be taken;

First, create an account on the “register” page. Once registered, upload the requested application documents as specified in the special terms. You can also download various sample requested formats and forms on the page.

Deadline for Mora scholarship 2022

Registration of the Kemenag period of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 2022-2023, open from April 10 to May 31, 2022.

Time selection:

  • Administration of ad passes. : June 8, 2022
  •  Written test and interview. : June 27 – 28, 2022
  • (for PTKI) Exam Interview: July 4, 2022
  • (Exclusively for PTU) The graduation announcement: July 20, 2022
  • Re-registration : July 25 – 31, 2022
