Scholarships for Mexican women interested in areas related to Information and Communication Technologies.
The Huawei – SRE – 1000 Talents for the Digital Development of Latin America and the Caribbean scholarships will award 1,000 scholarships for the entire region, corresponding to 30 per country. The objective of the program is to promote the development of female digital talents to strengthen their competitiveness, reduce the digital divide and promote the development of women in the region.
Participants will be able to choose one of the most advanced digital technologies to take an online course and become certified as an “ICT Certified Associate”.
Among the available technologies are Data Communication, Artificial Intelligence, Storage, the Internet of Things, Cloud Services, and Big Data, which are drivers of productivity and economic growth in the new digital era.
Who awards the scholarship?
TARGET
Women students, professionals, and/or academics interested in Information and Communication Technologies.
MODALITY
- Course and exam 100% online.
- Those selected will have free access to 100% online courses for the technology of their choice with a duration of 6 to 20 hours of study, accompanied by online sessions with Huawei experts to resolve doubts.
- Upon completion of the course, they must take an exam and, if they obtain the required score, they will be awarded an HCIA (Huawei Certified ICT Associate) certification that will allow them to take the certification exam online. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to download their HCIA digital certificate valid for 3 years.
AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE
Previous knowledge suggested in the following areas: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and/or Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering.
Upon completion of the chosen course, students will master the basic principles of Artificial
Intelligence, general open-source AI frameworks, and programming knowledge.
They will also have the ability to design, develop and innovate AI products and solutions using technologies such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING TO THE AREA OF STUDY TO CHOOSE FOR CERTIFICATION.
Previous knowledge must be declared in the “Letter of Intent” and the “Applicant Questionnaire”.
VERY IMPORTANT
Once the area of study for certification has been selected, said selection CAN NOT be modified.
DURATION OF STUDIES
6 to 20 hours according to the chosen area.
INTRODUCTION TO THE CERTIFICATION COURSES OFFERED BY HUAWEI
a. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (HCIA-AI)
a.1. Its objective is to train participants in the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and other technologies to achieve the design, development, and innovation of Artificial Intelligence products and solutions.
a.2. It is also the first step to compete for certification as an HCIA-AI Engineer through an exam.
a.3. NOTE: Huawei also offers free courses on Python and math topics necessary for the study of artificial intelligence.
b. DATA STORAGE (HCIA–STORAGE)
b.1. Its objective is to train the participants so that they can collaborate in the design, implementation, operation, and management of Huawei storage systems.
b.2. It is also the first step to compete for the certification as an HCIA-Storage Engineer through an exam.
b.3. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to build SAN and NAS storage networks, as well as be able to operate and manage Huawei data storage.
c. DATA COMMUNICATION (HCIA-DATACOM)
c.1. Its objective is to enable participants to plan, design, deploy, manage O&M (operation and maintenance), and optimize small and medium-sized campus networks.
c.2. It is also the first step to compete for the certification as an HCIA-Datacom Engineer through an exam.
c.3. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of data communication, including routing and switching principles, WLAN principles, network security, network management, O&M automation, SDN, and programming.
d. MACRO DATA (HCIA-BIG DATA)
d.1. Its goal is to train participants to use open-source Hadoop and Huawei Fusion Insight HD to operate and maintain big data platforms.
d.2. It is also the first step to compete for the certification as an HCIA-Big Data Engineer through an exam.
d.3. By the end of the course, participants will master open source big data architecture and component knowledge, and be able to use Huawei’s open-source Hadoop and FusionInsight HD big data product to complete basic big data functions.
and. INTERNET OF THINGS (HCIA IOT) e.1
. Its goal is to train participants to use Huawei’s open-source Hadoop and FusionInsight HD to complete the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the Big Data platform. It is also the first step to compete for certification as an HCIA-IoT Engineer through an exam.
e.2. By the end of the course, participants will master open source big data architecture and component knowledge, and be able to use Huawei’s open-source Hadoop and FusionInsight HD big data product to complete basic big data functions.
F. CLOUD SERVICES (HCIA CLOUD SERVICES)
f.1. Its objective is to train participants so that they can collaborate in the implementation and O&M (operation and maintenance) of cloud computing with virtualization technology. It is also the first step to compete for the certification as an HCIA-Cloud Services Engineer through an exam.
f.2. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to use virtualization technology to build cloud computing and perform basic cloud computing operations.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE BY COUNTRY
In this scholarship, the number of scholarships to be assigned per country will be based on the availability of places that were not assigned in the first edition of this student grant.
30 scholarships will be awarded per country, for a total of 990.
The remaining 10 scholarships will be assigned by the Selection Committee, made up of the coordinators.
PROGRAM STAGES
1. Apply for the program through the website.
2. If selected, you will receive a confirmation email.
3. Acceptance of the scholarship by the beneficiary.
4. Enrollment in the selected technology course, attendance at the online orientation session, and voucher registration for the selected area of study and certification.
5. Online study with the assistance of experts from Huawei and partners to resolve doubts.
6. Presentation of certification exam.
7. Obtaining the certification is valid for 3 years.
8. Granting of participation diploma in case of fulfilling the requirements.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE FIRST EDITION OF THE BURSARY
Women, who were awarded a scholarship in the first edition of this scholarship, will NOT be able to participate, so if they apply they will NOT be considered for evaluation.
Once the candidates have been selected, HUAWEI will notify them of the dates on which they must enter the platform to start their process.
The term indicated is non-extendable and applications received after the dates indicated will not be considered.
Applications that do not meet all the requirements will not be considered.
The deadline for receiving applications will not be modified.
Scholarships will be awarded through an evaluation and selection process beginning on the date of publication.
For minors, if they are selected, they will be asked to have the written permission of their father, mother, or legal guardian.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS
This is not a Scholarship from the Government of Mexico, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), or the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID).
By submitting her application with the required documentation, the candidate declares that all the information reflected is true and accepts that the information is evaluated through the selection system described in this student grant to select the participants.
The delivery of all the documentation does NOT guarantee to receive a scholarship or a place in this program.
The participants benefiting from the scholarship undertake to deliver, within three months of the completion of the course covered by the scholarship, an evaluation of the course and specific information on how the knowledge acquired will be applied, in order to cooperate with the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and HUAWEI in the evaluation of the impact of the scholarship program.

1. The scholarship includes the 100% online course and exam.
2. Waiver of the cost for the certification of the course, which is $200.00 USD.
3. Assistance through online sessions with Huawei experts and partners for the resolution of doubts.
4. Participants who successfully pass the corresponding certification exam may obtain an HCIA digital certificate valid for 3 years (free of charge).

Application Deadline
Applicants may register their candidacy from December 28, 2021, to March 28, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Mexico City time.
The results will be announced through the Mexican representations abroad and by the AMEXCID (Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation) as of May 10, 2022.
