The Georgia Institute of Technology, commonly known as Georgia Tech, is a public research university and institute of technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

It is part of the University System of Georgia and has satellite campuses in Savannah, Georgia; Metz, France; Athlone, Ireland; Shenzhen, China; and Singapore.

Today, Georgia Tech is organized into six colleges and contains approximately 31 departments/units, with an emphasis on science and technology. It is well known for its degree programs in engineering, computer science, business administration, MBAscience, and design.

Georgia Tech is ranked 8th among all public national universities in the United States, 35th among all colleges and universities in the United States by the United States  

World news and report rankings, and 34th among global universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education rankings. Georgia Tech has been ranked the “Smartest” public university in America (based on average standardized test scores).

Scholarships are awarded annually and do not require repayment. Academic excellence, financial need, and major of study are the primary criteria used to select recipients. Scholarship recipients are generally expected to maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 3.0.

Georgia Tech University Scholarship Eligibility

  • In general, students who entered Georgia Tech as freshmen are limited to receiving institutional scholarships for the first eight (8) terms of full-time enrollment. During an academic year, scholarships are generally awarded for two (2) semesters (fall, spring, or summer).
  • A transfer student’s period limit eligibility will be determined on an individual basis depending on the hours transferred.
  • To be considered for scholarships awarded by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, you must complete a financial aid application (FAFSA) and the Georgia Tech Application for Financial Aid and Scholarships each year.

1. Presidential Scholarship

The Hallmark President Scholars Program is Georgia Tech’s premier merit-based scholarship. Recipients are selected from the top applicants for admission to Georgia Tech based on demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, advancement, and service, as outlined described on the  Stamps President‘s Scholars Program webpage.

From the pool of applicants, students selected as semi-finalists submit a one-page abstract before being interviewed. The top semifinalists are named finalists and invited, along with their parents, to campus for additional interviews and an informational weekend in March.

This Georgia Tech University Scholarship is one of the best rewards offered by Georgia Tech. It offers recipients a full study discount for up to four years. Every year, about 40 students are selected for this Georgia Tech University scholarship. The number of students selected includes GA residents as well as residents of other states.

To ensure consideration, a student must apply as an incoming freshman and submit the Georgia Tech Freshman Application for Admission, along with the application fee, by the early action deadline of October 15th.

2. Provost Scholarship:

This scholarship means significant savings for foreign students in Georgia. In fact, this scholarship awards 40 students who are to study abroad for four years without tuition. All students applying for admission will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

The selection committee looks for students with leadership qualities, the potential to share their ideas with the Georgia Tech community, and academic results. More information about this scholarship can be found on the following website.

3. Faculty of Economics Scholarships:

At Georgia Tech, many schools and departments offer their own scholarship programs. Students enrolled or enrolled in the School of economics can opt for a scholarship. The students have five scholarships worth $1,000 and several others worth $2,500.

No application is required to view these prices. The school also offers the Joel V. O’Neal Scholarship, which requires the candidate to complete a separate application. This scholarship offers four lucky students $1,000.

These Georgia Tech University Scholarships are based on leadership and academic achievement. All students wishing to be considered for this scholarship must apply by May 31. Winners will be contacted at the end of June.
