The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) provides scholarships for Washington State students seeking certification in high-demand Washington State industries. They provide the Baccalaureate Scholarship annually, while their Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) runs three times a year.

The CTS scholarship is currently ongoing and, like all WSOS scholarships, provides funds that cover tuition and/or other fees.

What to Know
The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship has up to 20,000 students on track to serve by 2025. Of this number, 57% are women, indicating that the scholarship appreciates more women taking up careers. Additionally, 67% of Scholars WSOS funds are for students of color.

This WSOS scholarship awards up to $1,500 each quarter to students for the duration of their program. It offers support services as well.
Eligibility
To get this scholarship:
- You will need to be a resident of the state of Washington as defined by the state.
- In addition, you must earn a high school diploma or GED from a Washington State institution before the application deadline.
- You will also need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) for the applicable academic year by the application deadline.
- You may also apply for Federal Education Tax Credits if you are eligible.
- In addition, you must have a family income at or below 125% of the Washington State Median Family Income Based on family size.
- Regarding enrollment, you will need to plan to enroll in an eligible program with at least six credits each term for the next term.
- In the meantime, you should not enroll during a summer term.
- Finally, you shouldn’t have a bachelor’s degree yet.

Baccalaureate Scholarship
This WSOS scholarship opens each year in January and is for students who are pursuing a college degree in a Laboratory or health insurance field.
