The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2022-2023 at the University of Edinburgh is now accepting applications. Earning an online master’s degree is a great option to get a degree that is equivalent to on-campus study while still being able to work flexibly and live at home. The University of Edinburgh’s online Master’s degrees are entirely equal to on-campus Master’s degrees.

The University of Edinburgh’s Scholars Program will offer postgraduate online scholarships to African students with strong academic and leadership potential but limited educational possibilities.

About the Scholarship:

The Mastercard Foundation aspires to create a world where everyone may learn and succeed. Everyone should have an equal chance to succeed, regardless of their starting station in life. People can have that chance, we believe, if they have access to education, financial services, and skills training. Our primary goal is to assist economically disadvantaged young people in Africa in finding ways to lift themselves, their families, and their communities out of poverty and into a better future.

The MasterCard Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to With over $7 billion in assets, the Mastercard Foundation is an independent, global organization established in Toronto, Canada. It is establishing possibilities for all people to study and succeed through collaboration with partner organizations in 46 countries. The Foundation’s projects, which are largely in Africa, promote financial inclusion and increase youth learning. The Foundation was established in 2006 as a separate and independent organisation through the generosity of MasterCard Worldwide when it became a public business. The Foundation’s policy, operations, and financing decisions are made by its Board of Directors and President and CEO. The Foundation unveiled its new plan for 2018-2030 in March 2018. The Foundation’s new approach is based on its previous efforts in financial inclusion, as well as education and training. It will track employment as a critical metric for determining how far we’ve come in eliminating poverty among young people, particularly young women. The Foundation is currently active in 29 African nations. By 2030, the Foundation wants to help 30 million young people in Africa find jobs that are both dignified and meaningful to them. The Mastercard Foundation and Duke University have a long history of developing and exploiting collaborations to expand educational opportunities. Duke, like The Mastercard Foundation, considers and responds on a worldwide scale. Education, according to Duke leaders, is the key to improve people’s lives on all continents. Duke University and The Mastercard Foundation have a similar approach to developing change agents. We demonstrate our pupils how to apply what they’ve learned to real-world problems. The Mastercard Foundation promotes financial inclusion and prosperity through advancing microfinance and youth learning. The Foundation works with dedicated partners in 49 countries to help individuals living in poverty have access to chances to learn and flourish. It’s an independent, private foundation situated in Toronto, Canada, that was founded thanks to Mastercard Worldwide’s generosity during the company’s first public offering in 2006.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is not only a logical fit for Duke, but it is also the kind of collaboration that the university actively seeks as a progressive institution that provides liberal education in the context of a world-class research university. Duke will promote interdisciplinary thinking opportunities, encouraging young Africans to become more creative.  The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a $500 million education project that aims to improve access to education and job opportunities for talented but economically disadvantaged students from developing nations, notably in Africa. This program will provide 15,000 students with a comprehensive secondary and university education package that includes financial, intellectual, and social support, as well as job placement aid. The program is unique in that it places a strong emphasis on selecting students who are dedicated to “giving back” to their communities and home nations.
