  • Apply concurrently to Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) and a full-time Stanford graduate degree program starting in the same year.
  • Have deferred admission to a full-time Stanford graduate degree program and applied to KHS for the same starting year.
  • Currently, a Stanford graduate student, applying to add a second full-time Stanford graduate degree program starting in the same year.
  • Currently, a first-year Stanford Ph.D. student, applying to KHS for the second year of Ph.D. enrollment.

Note: priority will be considered for the students who are studying at Stanford University for at least two years.

If you have served in the military after completing your undergraduate studies, the university understands that you may have had longer service commitments. In recognition of this, they will extend the eligibility window by two years. To enroll in 2024, you must have earned your degree in January 2015 or later. If you are a current college student, you are eligible if you will obtain your first degree by September 2024. Keep in mind that within the eligibility window, they do not prioritize based on how recently your degree was obtained.

Application Process

The application can be access in an online portal provided by the university. The online application must be completed along with the required documents needed to support the application.

If you have received an offer of admission to a full-time Stanford graduate program for 2024 and have deferred enrollment, or if you are a current Stanford PhD student starting your second year in 2024, you need to submit only one application to Knight-Hennessy Scholars.

If you do not fall into the categories mentioned earlier, you need to submit two separate applications simultaneously.
