Fellowships from Cornell University are awarded to around twenty percent of our PhD students who are enrolled here on campus (referred to as Sage Fellowships or Cornell Fellowships depending on the field of study). These fellowships typically cover the cost of full tuition, provide a stipend for the duration of the academic year, and cover individual student health insurance at Cornell. In addition to that, students could receive a stipend throughout the summer.

Students in graduate school can receive financial support in the form of a fellowship, allowing them to continue their education without the burden of accompanying teaching or research responsibilities (as they are in a teaching or research assistantship). A student who is enrolled in a degree program that requires full-time study may be eligible for a fellowship, which is an award that is typically given out by the institution or by an outside organization.

A sizeable portion of incoming doctorate candidates receive financial support from the Graduate School in the form of fellowships presented by their respective graduate fields. Talk to both your director of graduate studies (DGS) and other students who are majoring in the same field as you are if you want to find out about the plethora of prizes that will be suitable for you. The Fellowship Database at UCLA, often known as GRAPES, provides users with access to a comprehensive list of prospects for external fellowships.
