This is a scholarship designed to carry out a training program in areas of public policy and society in Spain.

The Fundación Botín scholarships for the Strengthening of the Public Function in Spain have the objective of promoting the development of the region through a network of public servants with a vocation for full and proactive service.

BACKGROUND

The Program for the Strengthening of the Public Function in Spain emerged in 2010 as an initiative of the Botín Foundation to ensure that more of the best university students in Spain decide to commit themselves to their societies from public service, all with the objective to strengthen the proper functioning of institutions and improve the social, economic and sustained development of their countries.

The Botín Foundation is convinced that the existence of a solid public sector is a sine qua noncondition for societies to enjoy sustained social, economic, and cultural development over time.

To this end, the Foundation has designed a highly intense training experience for brilliant Spanish university students with a vocation for public service.

Through this training, their vocation is strengthened and founded, empowering in the participants, knowledge, attitudes, and essential skills for the proper exercise of a public function in the current reality of the region and the world

Upon graduating from the program, students go on to integrate the Network of Public Servants of Spain. Currently, 410 Alumni have a positive impact in their respective countries, contributing to the region what they have learned during the training experience of the program.

In this sense, the Botín Foundation accompanies an entire network of graduates committed to excellence, permanent training, and the search for consensus based on the common good on the path of strengthening the public sphere.

  • Promote the development of the region through the creation of networks of public servants with high training and true commitment to the general interest.

  • Channel creative talent at the service of public institutions.
  • Actively involve the participants in the construction, development, and growth of the Network of Public Servants in Spain of the Botín Foundation.

ALUMNI NETWORK OF PUBLIC SERVANTS

The Botín Foundation is convinced that the transformation and improvement of the public sector in Spain must be assumed, collectively, from the diversity and variety of areas of knowledge, professional profiles, ideological positions, and opinions of social life and the public.

The Program represents only a first step in this important work.

The impact that we hope to generate necessarily passes through the consolidation of an Alumni Network of the program that, based on this diversity and regardless of the differences, can share a way of acting based on fundamental principles and values ​​for the Public Service: integrity, proactivity, and vocation. of service.

After having carried out 11 editions of the program, the Alumni Network is now a reality, with 378 graduates making an impact in their environments, cities, countries, the region, and the world.

These are people-oriented to the search for excellence, whose priority is not to disappoint the principles and values ​​that will allow them to transform their reality and contribute to the development of Spain.

From the Botín Foundation, we accompany and support them through the generation of spaces for meetings, training, dialogue of ideas, and development of projects, always oriented to the achievement of this important mission, always in Network, in community.

What benefits do the Botín Foundation Scholarships for Strengthening the Public Function in Spain offer?

NOTES:

a. Travel expenses, maintenance, transfers, accommodation, medical insurance, and teaching during the Program are covered by the Botín Foundation. It will be the organization of the Program that manages these expenses.

b. The candidate will not receive any economic amount.

c. The Program does NOT cover the expenses related to the visa process if required. In addition, the candidate is responsible for carrying out all the necessary immigration procedures.

d. The Program does NOT cover expenses related to moving from the student’s home to the airport at the time of departure or arrival in their country.
and. The Program does NOT cover extraordinary costs for changing airline tickets.

F. The duration of medical coverage will NOT exceed the dates on which the Program is developed.
