The Public-School Scholarship Fund (PSSF), which was established by AUC in collaboration with other individuals and organizations, aims to increase opportunities for Egyptian students who have graduated from public schools, have an outstanding academic record, and who demonstrate a financial need.

About the Scholarship:

The American University in Cairo (AUC), founded in 1919, is the region’s leading English-language university and the cultural and intellectual capital of the Arab world. There are more than 60 nationalities represented at AUC, with students and faculty members from around the world, and a thriving venue for cross-cultural understanding and discussion. Undergraduates can choose from 36 different programs, while graduate students have a choice of 44 master’s and two doctoral degrees based on AUC’s liberal arts curriculum. One of Egypt’s premier private business schools, AUC School of Business is dedicated to molding today’s bright and enthusiastic minds into tomorrow’s responsible change agents while establishing relevance and leadership in a constantly dynamic ecosystem. The School provides a wide choice of programs that go beyond the classroom to create a holistic and interesting learning experience, and it is housed within Egypt’s leading private university with a history spanning over seven decades. Accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA) as well as the European Quality Improvement System (EQIS) gives the School a distinct edge over other institutions of higher learning in Europe (EQUIS). Also approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education and Training, the School’s executive education programs (ACCET). At the American University in Cairo (AUC) school of business, we think that you should do more than just ride the wave of change; we believe in enabling individuals capable of managing the tides of change and succeeding in dynamic contexts. Through the use of a variety of hands-on learning materials and a faculty of competent educators, students at AUC will receive valuable experience both inside and outside the classroom as they pursue degrees in business administration and international relations in Africa and the Middle East. Cairo, one of the world’s top 100 study abroad destinations for international students, offers a unique and unforgettable study abroad adventure in the Middle East and North Africa. Cairo, a bustling metropolis with a rich history and modern amenities, caters to a diverse range of visitors. The city has long functioned as the cultural, political, and social center of the Arab world, bringing together the many peoples of the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean. Studying in Cairo gives you the opportunity to become more familiar with Egyptian culture while also learning about the most serious challenges facing the area today. The Nile, the world’s longest river, flows through the Greater Cairo area, which has a population of 20 million people. With the Pyramids of Giza, majestic mosques and churches, and Egypt’s greatest museum, Cairo is the Arab world’s most populous city. As you meander around Cairo’s narrow alleyways, you’ll come across a flourishing arts and music scene, a stunning opera house, hip cafes and theaters, and a slew of lesser-known attractions. As the most widely spoken and understood variety of Arabic in the Arab world, Cairo is a great place to study the language. As a student in Egypt, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter a wide range of new things. Cairo, Egypt, is a vibrant metropolis with a fascinating mix of ancient ruins and cutting-edge high-rises. Students at Kent State can spend a semester, an academic year, or a summer term at The American University in Cairo, where they can take such including Hieroglyphics, Islamic Law, Cinema in Egypt and the Arab World, Languages of the World, and Contemporary Security Issues in the Middle East. However, those who prefer to learn Arabic can do so on their own time. Take a day trip to the Giza Pyramids, the Ibn Tulun Mosque, or the Valley of the Kings or Mount Sinai in your spare time. The American University in Cairo offers students the choice of a single, a double, or a studio apartment in its on-campus residence halls. There is also a 24-hour service point with receptionist, a community lounge, a kitchenette, computer laboratories, study rooms, and emergency medical services in the residence halls. Students can also take advantage of amenities such as free self-service laundry and room cleaning supplies, as well as high-speed WiFi and controlled air conditioning and heating. Bed linens are also included. Academic buildings, sports facilities, and campus bus stations may all be reached on foot from AUC’s student housing. Three modern theaters, a fully equipped Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism, and 13 cross-disciplinary research centers are also part of the University of Cairo’s facilities. An investment in the future of the city, country, and region, the University’s contemporary, 260-acre New Cairo campus is a cutting-edge center for advanced research, innovative teaching, and civic participation. AUC is an independent, non-profit, and equal-opportunity university that is chartered and accredited in both the United States and Egypt. AUC is
