Wageningen University offers a fully funded scholarship for African Students who aim to further their Master’s degree program in the Netherlands. The Africa Scholarship Program has been organized by Wageningen University and Research to provide an opportunity for highly motivated and talented African students to further their higher education in the Netherlands for the academic year 2023-2024.
The Africa Scholarship Program has been initiated for African students to help them in supporting capacity building in Africa, and to develop more leaders that can help the communities and people who needed more assistance in the future. The scholarship will be awarded to deserving students who can demonstrate their abilities and skills, knowledge, academic excellence, and leadership skills. The successful students will be receiving a fully-funded award for up to two years of study in the Netherlands.
The scholarship will be awarding 10 African students in a fully-funded scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility
Before proceeding to the scholarship, the students must meet the eligibility of the scholarship.
- The applicants must be a citizen of the African Country.
- Must be an academic excellent student with a 1st honor degree or GPA score of 80% or higher in an undergraduate degree.
- Already applied to the master’s degree program at Wageningen University and research before January 3, 2022, students must check the master’s degree application process.
Keep in mind that the eligibility must be met and if you don’t meet the above qualification references for the Africa Scholarship Program then you will not be eligible and will not be invited to the selection process of the scholarship committee.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria will be based on the university’s invitation and it is not possible to directly apply for the scholarship.
The invitation to apply will be on March 2023 and all students must be admitted unconditionally to the MSc program at Wageningen University and will be assessed with regards to the Africa Scholarship Program.
The selection of group candidates will be invited via email by March 20, 2023, and they should participate in the ASP selection process. The selected students will have to write assignments until April 3, 2023.
After all the assessments of the submitted assignments, the selected students will be invited for an interview and other applicants who submitted an assignment that does not qualify for the scholarship will be notified by April 17, 2023.

Required Documents
As part of the application process the students must submit the following requirements:
- Bachelors Degree Certificates, the certificate must be in the original language and must be translated by a certified translator.
- Transcript of Records, the applicants must upload the original copy of the transcript of records.

- Letter of recommendations
All applications and submitted documents will be evaluated by the Admission Department Office. The students will receive an email notification if one uploaded document is not accepted. The notification will received after two weeks.
If the Admission Department already evaluated the application and other submitted documents, the application will be forwarded to the Admission Board and results will be received after 6 to 8 weeks after submitting the application.
Language Requirements
All programs offered by the university will be in English Language, so it is important that all applicants must have good communication skills in oral and written English.
Scholarship Benefits
The Wageningen University will be providing the following to ten African students:

- Travel expenses to and from the Netherlands
- Living Allowance for up to two years.

The scholarship award wil be up to two years.
