Scholarship Eligibility
Who is qualified to apply for the scholarship:
- Citizenship: You must be a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA (including Switzerland) and be required to pay tuition fees.
- Application: You must have submitted a complete application in a regular application round for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies leading to a degree at Lund University. Please note that the program you are applying for the scholarship should be your first choice in your application at universityadmissions.se.
- Current students: If you are already studying at Lund University, please refer to the information regarding scholarships for current students.
It is important to meet the criteria above before proceeding with the application.
If any of the following apply to you, the university request to refrain from applying:
- You do not meet the admission requirements set by Lund University.
- A program or course offered by Lund University is not listed as your first choice.
- You are unable to secure the necessary funding to cover your living expenses, as stipulated by the Swedish Migration Agency.
Application Process
- When the application period is open, you will find a link with detailed application instructions on the official page of the university.
- Eligible applicants must first apply to the program intended to study at Lund University through the national application portal.
- Once you have submitted a complete application for degree studies, you will be able to apply for the scholarship.
- The application for the scholarship is separate from the national application portal.
- The scholarship link portal will be provided on the official page of the university during the application period.
Required Materials
- As part of the scholarship application, you will need to submit a personal ‘scholarship motivation letter. The maximum limit of 600 words through the scholarship application portal.
- It’s important to note that the scholarship motivation letter is different from the statement of purpose required for the specific program application.
- The scholarship motivation letter should specifically explain why your academic performance and reasons for choosing Lund University make you a suitable candidate for the Lund University Global Scholarship.
- Keep in mind that you can only apply for one Lund University Global Scholarship for the programs selected at Lund University within a particular application round.
- However, in addition to the Lund University Global Scholarship, you are eligible to apply for other scholarships, such as the Swedish Institute scholarships, if you meet the respective eligibility criteria.
Selection Process
The selection process will be given to the students who can demonstrate their academic achievements and strong commitments, desire to pursue their higher education in Sweden, and the candidates who are assessed as a good fit for the program.
Scholarship Awards
The Lund University Global Scholarship offers financial assistance to cover tuition fees and living expenses. Every year, Lund University awards approximately SEK 20 million (€1.8 million / US $1.9 million) in scholarship grants.
Other assistance will be awarded to the successful students.
Application Deadline
The deadline to complete and submit the application is until February 2024.
