Eligibility
- For this scholarship students will need to present a 3.5-grade point average out of 4.0.
- This scholarship is only available to first-year students.
- In order to be eligible, projects should have been implemented in Bulgaria and should have impacted positively the Bulgarian society, community group(s) or citizens permanently residing in Bulgaria.
- Students will have to use the same application eligibility requirements for admission since students have to be admitted to the American University of Bulgarian first before applying for this scholarship.
- There is an online application form for admissions.
- For admissions students will need to have an essay, letters of recommendations, transcript, proof of English proficiency, CV, portfolio, admissions interview, SAT and ACT scores are required, and application for financial aid. The financials aid does depend on the students income amount.
Requirements
Base requirements for students to send in these items to complete the application process:
- A video or presentation telling the student’s story about their social impact
- An essay
- Transcripts
- Show proof and have valid reviews from the individuals who are being affected in a positive way by the social impact that is helping them.
How to Apply
There is only one full scholarship available so this is considered a competitive scholarship in Bulgaria. Eligible individuals will need to show that they are taking a 4-year course to be able to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity.
Reward – Extra Benefits
The full reward of this scholarship is for students to receive a full covered tuition coverage option. This allows students to not pay out of pocket or with a student loan. The university will cover the complete cost of this 4-year education.

Student Visa
A student visa is only needed if the student is from a different country other than Bulgaria. This way the student will need to present credible and correct information to send to the Embassy of Bulgaria. Students will need to have their student visa before they arrive in the country.
Deadline Time Line
Scholarship recipients will be required to maintain CGPA of a minimum 3.50 on a scale of 4.00 during their entire course of study at AUBG to retain the scholarship and will be encouraged to demonstrate continued social engagement via extracurricular activities.
The official deadline date is the same as the deadline for the application date.
Early admission has the deadline date of March 1, 2024. Since the 2023 year has already selected a new batch of freshmen students, students will have to watch for the 2024 school year.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame is the same as the open window as the application. The open window is from January 1 – March 1, 2024. There is a potential date for an extended open window that students can apply for. However, this date needs to be inquired about until the university through the contact information section that is located on this article.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that lasts for the given time frame or how long the research project needs to be conducted. This is not a renewable scholarship research option. There may be option to receive a higher funding percentage depending on the student financial or low income background and current state of living.
