The University of Limerick offers Ph.D. Fellowship in frameworks to assess the potential impact of genomics on medical health in the real world.

The Ph.D. project will create software tools to enable access and analysis of genomic data in EMR registries. The program is offered to successful international students. Applications are now open for the academic year 2022-2023.

Applicant must have experience in at least one computer language, be familiar with open source coding practices, including Github and containerization, and be motivated to write R / Bioconductor codes and packages.

Applicants must attach a detailed proposal of the research to be carried out (on separate sheets if necessary). This should include sections on 1) Description of the topic, including the research objectives; 2) Objectives and/or hypotheses; 3) Research methodology, including how the data will be collected; and 4) Bibliography and references.

Applicants must have a first or upper second class honors degree at the undergraduate or master’s level or equivalent training in data science, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
