The Conacyt scholarships for postgraduate studies and stays abroad in the priority areas of the national health institutes and highly specialized hospitals are offered by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), through the Coordination of Support for Scholars and Researchers (CABI), in coordination with the Coordinating Commission of National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals (CCINSHAE).

The health personnel assigned to the Institutes and Hospitals Coordinated by the CCINSHAE, such as the National Institutes of Health (INS). They include the “Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz” National Institute of Psychiatry, the “Ignacio Chávez” National Institute of Cardiology, the “Ismael Cosió Villegas” National Institute of Respiratory Diseases, the “Salvador Zubirán” National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, National Institute of Genomic Medicine, National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery “Manuel Velasco Suárez”, National Institute of Pediatrics, National Institute of Perinatology “Isidro Espinosa de Los Reyes”, National Institute of Rehabilitation, National Institute of Geriatrics, the National Institute of Health Public and the Children’s Hospital of Mexico “Federico Gómez”.

Federal Reference Hospitals (HFR). They include the General Hospital of Mexico, General Hospital “Dr. Manuel Gea González”, National Homeopathic Hospital, Hospital for Women, Hospital Juárez del Centro and Hospital Juárez de México.

High Specialty Regional Hospitals (HRAE). They refer to the Regional Hospital of High Specialty of Bajío, Regional Hospital of High Specialty of Oaxaca, Regional Hospital of High Specialty of the Yucatan Peninsula, Regional Hospital of High Specialty of Ciudad Victoria “Bicentenario 2011”, Regional Center of High Specialty of Chiapas and the High Specialty Regional Hospital of Ixtapaluca.

To participate in the selection process to obtain a scholarship in any of the following
MODALITIES
1. Postgraduate Scholarship: That which is granted to study Postgraduate programs in the country or abroad that are of outstanding academic recognition, as well as those whose theme is aligned with the priorities of national attention and training strategies in areas of the knowledge that attend to them.
2. Consolidation Scholarship: That which is granted to carry out projects of humanistic and scientific research, technological development, or innovation, which contribute to the advancement of knowledge in any of the areas and fields of scientific knowledge, to the development of cutting-edge strategic technologies. or open innovation, or, to the prevention, attention, and solution of national problems.
AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS OF EACH MODALITY
a. Graduate Scholarships: 25
b. Consolidation Scholarships: 25
OBJECTIVE
Increase capacities in specific and priority fields of health in Mexico, with the commitment that upon completion of their programs they return to the country to rejoin the units coordinated by CCINSHAE, thus contributing to the development and well-being of the people of Mexico, in accordance with the Scholarship Regulations for the Strengthening of the Community of Humanities, Sciences, Technologies and Innovation (Conacyt Scholarship Regulations) and the Operating Rules of the Conacyt Postgraduate Scholarship and Quality Support Program of the Budget program S190, (ROP of Pp. S190).
TARGET POPULATION
1. People assigned to the Institutes and Hospitals coordinated by the CCINSHAE, who are:
1.1. Admitted and enrolled in face-to-face masters or doctoral programs.
1.2. That they are going to carry out a postdoctoral or research stay abroad with full-time dedication.

14. Areas related to Health issues

VALIDITY OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The beginning of the validity of the scholarship will be determined according to the beginning of the stay or duration of the postgraduate program and in accordance with the calendar of this call, which will be specified in the Scholarship Allocation Letter, called “Annex One” that is part of the Scholarship Allocation Agreement (CAB).

What benefits do the Conacyt Scholarships offer for postgraduate studies and stays abroad in the priority areas of the national health institutes and highly specialized hospitals?

Items covered by each type of scholarship:

1. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS (MASTERS OR DOCTORATE)
1.1. Monthly economic support in accordance with the Table of Scholarships Abroad.
1.2. Payment of annual tuition in accordance with the Table of Scholarships Abroad.
1.3. Payment of annual medical insurance in accordance with the Table of Scholarships Abroad.
1.4. In no case, and under no circumstance, will Conacyt cover language courses, propaedeutics, installation expenses, visa expenses, or legalization of documents.
2. FOR CONSOLIDATION SCHOLARSHIPS (POSTDOCTORAL STAY 1ST AND 2ND YEAR OF CONTINUITY)
2.1. Monthly economic support based on the Authorized Tabulator for consolidation scholarships.
2.2. Support for annual medical insurance according to the Authorized Tabulator Consolidation Scholarships
3. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS (MASTER’S/PhD)
3.1. The validity of the scholarship will be for a determined period of time, in accordance with the official duration of the study program abroad, without exceeding the maximum validity established in the Conacyt Scholarship Regulations.
3.2. Scholarships will be awarded starting in September 2022. In cases where the program starts after September 2022, the scholarship will be awarded according to the date indicated in the acceptance letter. Scholarships whose study program begins after March 31, 2023, will not be awarded. In cases whose program begins before September 2022, the scholarship will only cover the remaining period to conclude it according to the official duration of studies, without that said period exceeding the maximum period established in the Conacyt Scholarship Regulations.
4. CONSOLIDATION SCHOLARSHIPS (POSTDOCTORAL STAYS)
4.1. The duration of the stay will be for 12 (twelve) consecutive months from the start date and in accordance with the calendar established in this Call.

CONSULTATION OF RESULTS: The list of approved applications will be published on the Conacyt website on the date established in the calendar.
Applicants whose CVU numbers have been published on the Conacyt portal will receive an email with the instructions to follow to formalize their scholarship.
The dates of this Call may be modified and, if applicable, it will be made public through the Conacyt portal.
Based on the Conacyt Scholarship Regulations, this Call may be modified with respect to the form of presentation of the electronic file depending on the development of the computer platform. In which case, it will be informed in a timely manner on the Conacyt website.
