The Reach Cambridge Scholarship Essay Contest offers partial and fully funded scholarships to outstanding high school students to enable them to attend their programs. Designed specifically for academically excellent high school students between the ages of 15 and 17, this program offers them financial aid without which they may not be able to attend the programs.

Reach Cambridge has been successfully running summer schools and study programs in Cambridge since 2005. It is a private company specializing in study courses and is entirely independent of the University of Cambridge. The program offered by the organization caters to people looking to attend the University of Cambridge to study after high school.

About The Reach Cambridge Scholarship

The Reach Cambridge Summer Scholarship Essay Contest is designed for academically outstanding high school students between the ages of 15 and 17 who will not be able to attend summer school programs. Please note that this scholarship competition cannot be applied to the University of Cambridge.

Cambridge Scholarship Essay Competition Benefit

Full Scholarship: A fully funded scholarship reward for your 2-week programs. The Full Scholarships Available in 2021: Summer Season – Approximately 3 scholarships available.
Spring: Approximately 6 scholarships available.
Partial Scholarship: A partially-moneyed scholarship award (50%) for your 2-week programs in the spring or summer 2021 season.

What is the essay question and what else will be considered?

The essay question for this year’s scholarship competition is:

“What is the main problem facing society today and what can we do to bring about positive change in this area?”

A good essay requires careful argumentation, a clear structure, and originality. This set of characteristics will be taken into account when judging applicants’ essays. They will also consider the letter of recommendation provided by your school and the short personal statement in the video.

Eligibility Requirement for Reach Cambridge Scholarship

Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 17 on November 17, 2023, and currently in high school.
Essays must be completed independently by students: they must be original work, not plagiarized.
The deadline for scholarship applications is November 17, 2023, at 23:00 GMT. We will only consider complete applications submitted before this date. A complete application is one that includes an answer to the essay question and all other questions in the “Scholarship” tab, your school’s letter of recommendation, the link to the personal statement video, and also has the following sections completed on the account page: School transcript, signature, parent information, school information.
Applicants from fee-paying schools will only be considered if their letter of recommendation confirms that they are attending the school on a scholarship.
The awards provide, free of charge, all those items normally covered by the program fee, including accommodation, all field trips, lectures, theater trips, workshops and tuition, and half-board meals.
These prices do not include those items that are not normally covered by the program fee: flights; transport to/from Cambridge at the start and end of the program if traveling independently; a third meal of the day (half board offered); Optional enhancements have been shown to have an additional fee (such as trial courses and add-ons); snacks, drinks, and meals purchased outside the program; pocket money and souvenirs; books in exchange for credits, courses and classes; laundry (other than bedding); travel insurance, health insurance, and any medical or dental fees.
Reach Cambridge is not guaranteed to offer scholarship awards to any of the candidates. Reach Cambridge reserves the right not to award scholarship awards.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified by December 10, 2021.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview in mid-December and will be notified of the outcome of the competition no later than early January.

The final decision on award winners rests with Reach Cambridge Ltd. By submitting a scholarship application, the student agrees to respect and honor the decision made by Reach Cambridge.
By submitting an application to the scholarship competition, the student agrees to help promote the scholarship program if awarded an award.
The successful candidate also agrees to their name being published on the Reach Cambridge website as well as on their social media pages.
The student must have the permission of a parent or guardian to accept the scholarship. Scholarship awards are conditional on parental approval: Parents/guardians will be required to sign a statement that they agree to the terms, conditions, rules, and regulations of Reach Cambridge.
By applying for this scholarship, the student agrees to abide by the Reach Cambridge terms and conditions and rules and regulations, available on our website, as well as these scholarship terms and conditions.
Students do not have to pay a deposit before applying for the scholarship.

How to Apply for Reach Cambridge Scholarship 2023

To enter the contest, please follow these simple steps to complete a full application by 23:00 GMT on November 17, 2023.

Please follow the link above to set up a Reach Cambridge Scholarship account (when you open the link, do not use the ‘apply’ button at the top right of the website – you cannot set up a scholarship account through that link).
From your main account page, select the “Scholarships” tab on the left.
Copy your essay into the box provided (the word limit is 750 words). Answer all other questions on the page.
A letter of recommendation from a staff member at your school should be sent to [email protected] directly, using an official school email address. This should be on your letterhead and should describe why you are a good candidate for the scholarship: it should tell them what makes you excel academically, and it should give them some indication of your financial circumstances. For example, if you attend a school that pays fees, the letter should specify whether you attend the school on a scholarship, or if you pay all or part of the fee. You should include the staff member’s contact details so they can contact you for more information if needed. This is the only part of the application that must come from your school; the rest must be completed by you.
A short video (up to 3 minutes) must be submitted in the form of a YouTube link as your personal statement. It is an opportunity for you to tell us a little about yourself, why you think you are the best candidate for scholarships and how coming to Reach Cambridge would affect your life.
You must also complete the School Transcript, Signature, Parent Information, and School Information sections of your account. Please note that if you do not complete all of these sections of your application, we will not consider it. They all need to be checked off on your account page by the deadline.
Due to the number of applications received, we are unable to notify unsuccessful candidates.
