The Amnesty International USA Internship Program 2022 is available to interested applicants who wish to pursue further training in human rights studies and experience first-hand training while working with the Global Human Rights organization.

Amnesty International USA‘s Americas Advocacy Director (AD) works to influence policy, strategize, and advance human rights in the Americas.

This internship reports directly to the AD and provides support and experience in developing and implementing advocacy strategies and tactics, liaising with government agencies and officials, conducting legislative research, writing and editing skills, managing databases, analyzing emerging areas of law and government policy, follow the progress of legislation in the US Congress and learn about the international human rights framework.

The internship is unpaid.

International Amnesty

Amnesty International is the leading international organization dedicated to protecting the human rights of all citizens. The US chapter offers many opportunities to witness the important law and policy work that Amnesty does to support those fighting against abuses of power.

Amnesty International is dedicated to investigating the social causes of human rights violations and uses this research to prevent further abuses.

Amnesty International works to protect human rights around the world. His vision is a world in which all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity, enjoy all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Amnesty Internship Program

One of Amnesty’s most popular programs is the Internship Program. Internships are unpaid and are intended for junior and senior college students, recent graduates, and law students.

Interns have the opportunity to participate in research projects and strategy meetings, as well as some congressional office meetings.

Amnesty’s internship programs are generally based in the International Secretariat (IS) offices in London, Geneva, and New York and occasionally in other US offices.

Internship programs tend to focus on our areas of international law and defense or are scholarships provided in partnership with universities.

Interns will gain valuable insight into the operations of these areas; Vacancy notices will have more details on what each placement will entail.

Interns are generally recruited for a period of four to six months on a part-time or full-time basis for an appropriate intern activity program.

Location

Amnesty International’s 2022 Internship Program will take place at Amnesty’s US office.
